The Philadelphia 76ers have been the talk of the NBA world ever since the Free Agency. After joining them just two seasons ago, it looks like 2018 NBA MVP James Harden is ready to leave. Moreover, his future has also raised questions about the reigning MVP Joel Embiid, and his future ambitions. Days after making an eye-opening revelation about leaving the Sixers, it seems an Eastern Conference team is keeping tabs on the 7-foot-tall superstar.

The team in question is none other than the New York Knicks. Despite having one of the largest fan bases in the world, the Knicks do not have a superstar on their team. This might drastically change in the coming days.

The 76ers have a lot of issues to deal with in the coming days. There haven’t been any significant signings from their end. And, it seems like the Sixers fanbase might have to bid goodbye to one of their superstars, if not both of them.

With the whole NBA world talking about Harden and his desire to play for the Los Angeles Clippers, the Knicks might swoop in for Embiid. According to the latest reports by Michael Scotto, the Knicks are monitoring the Harden saga. In case the 10-time NBA All-Star decides to leave, the Knicks might go in for Embiid.

“The New York Knicks—are monitoring how the Harden saga plays out in Philadelphia and will affect the happiness of MVP Joel Embiid. The Knicks have long admired Embiid and have significant draft capital to dangle”, wrote Scotto on hoopshype. Embiid’s former agent, Leon Rose, now leads the Knicks’ front office. This might be an enormous factor in bringing the Cameroonian on board.

If the Knicks do pull off a steal and get Embiid on board, this will be their superstar signing since NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, who retired in May this year, after playing for 19 seasons. Melo joined the Knicks in 2011 and spent 7 seasons with the team. He was an All-Star in all 7 seasons and left a franchise legend.

James Harden has been on the move for the past few seasons. After falling out with the Houston Rockets front office, the former MVP joined the Brooklyn Nets. While everyone spoke highly about the Nets team, Harden left them in 2022 and joined the 76ers.

After consecutive playoff heartbreaks, it looks like Harden’s time is up. He has made it clear he wants to join the Los Angeles Clippers. Interestingly, he also uploaded a cryptic message on Instagram recently. All these signs point to a potential Harden exit in the coming days.
