The votes are in! Making the NBA All-Star team is every hoopster’s dream. But very few are lucky and talented enough to crack the list. Well, this year’s selection was tougher than ever, because of how competitive the league has become. But with LeBron and Steph as staples, we finally know who the starters are going to be. As expected, there are a few snubs, and the community is not really pleased about it. In an unsurprising turn of events, it’s the selected players, who are the ones bearing the brunt of all the criticism.
Representing the Western Conference are: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic. Even the East is stacked with Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Karl-Anthony Towns. Of course, no one had any doubts about stars like LBJ and The Slim Reaper making the cut for the nth time! However, some selections have taken the netizens by surprise as superstars, including Damian Lillard and Anthony Edwards, have failed to get the nod!

First on the criticized players list is East’s Jalen Brunson, who earned his spot by leading the NY Knicks to the third rank. Moreover, JB has been in incredible form, averaging 26 points and over seven assists. Despite the winning record and impressive stats, many fans believe he stole the starting spot from other elite guards, as comments like “Brunson over Dame is diabolical” and “Cade should be over Brunson” began flooding in.
Of course, Dame has played a major role in turning the season around for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co., averaging 25 points and over seven assists. Similarly, Cade Cunningham is the reason why the Pistons have a winning record unlike last year, where they finished dead last in the East.
Even LaMelo Ball, who is averaging 29 points but has a losing record, is getting preference over Jalen Brunson, by many. Maybe, that’s because the New York Knicks are the only team in either conference with two starters (happening for them for the first time in 50 years). Obviously, the second one is Karl-Anthony Towns, who has taken the league by storm since getting traded from Minnesota.

Meanwhile, the West selections are not being received well either. Surprisingly, Stephen Curry is the primary target this time. Sure, he is one of the biggest superstars in the NBA. But his performance has declined massively this season, averaging only 22.6 points. Moreover, the Splash Bro’s team is nowhere close to playoff contention. That’s why many believe Curry didn’t deserve the starting spot this time, as netizens wrote, “Steph Curry is so undeserving man” and “Curry starting over Ant, Powell, Kyrie is crazy.”
Well, the West is stacked with elite guards and there are more than two guards good enough to be named starters. But Curry’s selection proves how popular and beloved he is despite Father Time catching up. Moreover, the game will be played in San Francisco, which is Steph’s beloved city. And regardless of whoever made the cut, there were bound to be some dissatisfied fans.
Believe it or not, some were even questioning Nikola Jokic’s selection: “GET JOKIC OUT.” Yes, despite him having arguably the best year of his career, averaging 30.1 points and over thirteen rebounds, some believe the Serb should not be an NBA All-Star starter. But this just goes to prove how much talent the league currently has, which is always a good problem to have.
Turns out, the biggest hoops league tried to make the fans happy with a once-in-a-lifetime initiative involving LeBron James. Unfortunately, the King and his son for that matter were not interested!

LeBron James “declines” historic moment with Bronny James at NBA All-Star Weekend
It was earlier this season that James created history by teaming up with Bronny- as the first father-son duo in league history. Well, he had the chance to achieve a similar feat once again. Per vet insider, Chris Haynes, “Sources informed me that LeBron James and Bronny were sought out by the league with the opportunity to further make history by being the first father-son duo to participate in the Skills Challenge during the All-Star Weekend next month in San Francisco. But I was told that invitation was turned down.”
In another shocking decision, Bronny also turned down the invitation to be among the G League players to participate in the Rising Stars game. Of course, that’s disappointing news because fans would have loved to watch the James duo teaming up for a challenge! Additionally, it would have been great for the league’s ratings, which have been declining recently.
