The Indiana Pacers had a wonderful In-Season tournament run before their heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas. They won all the six tournament games before their 123-109 loss against the Lakers. They stunned the NBA world as they defeated the tournament heavyweights, including Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics. After the loss, Tyrese Haliburton had words to share for his friend and NFL star Brock Purdy.

 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Tyrese Haliburton were together at the school in Iowa. Brock was in the football team and Tyrese in the basketball team. The two rose to be the leaders of their teams and climbed together the staircases of stardom. After the loss against the Lakers, Tyrese shed light on the bond.

Tyrese Haliburton’s heartfelt words for Brock Purdy

Haliburton and the Pacers hoped to create a surprise in the finals, but lady luck didn’t smile. In the media interaction after the loss against the Lakers, Haliburton delved into his relationship with the NFL star Brock Purdy. He shared that the two came together at the school as freshmen. He shared their interaction and the time, about how they would spend time together reading books and discussing. “Somebody I can call a friend.” Further, he shared that he often tried to check on him and called him a brother.

It wasn’t the first time Tyrese spoke about his relationship with the NFL star. In October, after the 49ers decimated the Dallas Cowboys with 42-10, and Tyrese was all praise for the NFL star. He wrote as the game was over, “MVPurdy”. He has on several occasions recounted his friendship with the star and praised him publicly.

Tyrese Haliburton’s admiration for Brock in the past

Tyrese has shared his view about Brock’s response to the bad games and possessions. He said that Brock can move forward no matter how bad the conditions he faces.

Tyrese has also admired the work ethic of his NFL friend. He has shown respect for his athletic abilities of Purdy. He has positively spoken about how despite struggles as a human being and an athlete, he enjoys a special relationship with Purdy. Tyrese said, “I would say the biggest thing for me, having watched him for two years, is that he is true to his work. He works really, really hard. I think as a human being and as an athlete, you have times where you struggle and that happens.”
