It sure seems like Tyrese Haliburton has a 2nd career planned in the WWE once he is done with hooping. No, he did not say it. But his frequent cameos showcase how big a wrestling fan the Pacers superstar is. And he loves to trash-talk his opponents and even the fans of rival cities. But during his latest appearance, after a clever dig at the Orlando locals, the situation soon came back to bite him, as NXT Champion Ethan Page silenced the point guard with a brutal response on the mic.

Yes, Tyrese Haliburton made a surprise appearance on Tuesday’s NXT as the show touched down in Orlando. Hoping to conduct the contract signing between Ethan Page and Trick Williams’ upcoming match with his own “reinforcements,” the hooper entered the squared circle. Sure enough, the crowd did not give a pleasant welcome to the opposing team’s superstar and filled the arena with boos as Hali introduced his Pacers’ teammates sitting among the audience.

But the guard was quick to clap back, garnering an even louder reaction from the fans, “I would boo too if I had to be an Orlando Magic fan.” However, the tables quickly turned on Haliburton as Ethan began cutting his promo on Trick Williams, “When it comes to this championship, Ethan Page is the Boston Celtics!”

While the words were targeted at Williams, it was also a direct dig at the Pacer, as he recently got swept by the Cs in the East finals. Then, the NXT champ doubled down on the insult, “On October 1 when I beat you in Chicago, you will be like the Indiana Pacers,” while giving a side eye to Tyrese Haliburton.

Sure enough, the crowd loved it and began cheering as the hooper could do nothing but smile. But this is not the first time Tyrese Haliburton has riled up the fans while standing inside a WWE ring.

Well, it was back in June when Haliburton’s unexpected appearance on WWE’s Friday Night Smack Down led to deafening boos inside Madison Square Garden. Obviously, it was only weeks after the Pacers star sent the Knicks home in the playoffs, which meant the wound was still fresh. But the boos quickly turned into cheers as Hali had an epic face-off with NYC’s beloved Jalen Brunson, who was sitting in the front row for the show. And even the announcers were hyped seeing the two rivals face to face.

“We might need to get some security out here again. Hell, bring the NYPD back!” Then, the situation escalated even further after LA Knight won the triple threat match, and Logan Paul and Tyrese Haliburton attempted to pull off a sneak attack on the megastar. However, Jalen Brunson came to Knight’s rescue and entered the ring with a steel chair, and evened the odds, sending the MSG crowd into a frenzy.

Unfortunately, Tyrese Haliburton was one-upped once again like he was tonight. But it proves one thing that the Pacers guard loves to be a heel and rile up opposing crowds, be it on the court or inside a ring. Do you want to see him make more appearances in the WWE?
