Why should the American audience have all the fun? Sure, the NBA may be their league, but that doesn’t mean fans from other parts of the world can’t enjoy the action. By now, you’ve probably guessed what’s coming. It’s that time of year when teams head to different countries in Europe to give fans a thrilling experience. This time, the French capital is getting the spotlight, not with just one game, but two. Both the Indiana Pacers vs. San Antonio Spurs matchups will take place in Paris, and Tyrese Haliburton has made his stance clear on Victor Wembanyama‘s slight edge in the clashes.

In a clip recorded by the franchise, Haliburton and his Indiana teammates shared what they’re looking forward to in the upcoming games. “I’m just excited to be back,” said the combo guard. About five months ago, Haliburton was with the USAB Team in Paris for the Summer Olympics and now he’s returning there with the Pacers, which obviously has a special feeling.

“I think everybody knows we’re going to Paris to play San Antonio, who obviously has the face of France on their team,” Haliburton added. There are no points for guessing that he was talking about Wemby, the leading star of the Spurs, who also represents France internationally. So, it’s clear that most of the support will be on his side. “So we’re going in there. Probably not a ton of cheers and support for us, but that’s okay,” Haliburton said, making peace with the situation.

Wemby was also on the Olympic tour, and both NBA stars faced off in the finals, with Team USA securing the gold medal after a tough fight. While Haliburton didn’t get much of an opportunity to shine in the national colors, perhaps he can fulfill his dream of performing in front of the Paris crowd with his NBA team. Apart from Haliburton, his girlfriend Jade Jones was over the moon about the thrilling trip to the fashion capital.

Tyrese Haliburton’s girlfriend shares exciting news with her fans

A few hours ago, Jade shared an Instagram story with her thousands of followers about their trip. The story featured a lock and some keys. But hold on, it wasn’t just any lock. It showed two hearts locked together, with “Ty & Jade Paris 2025” inscribed on it. She tagged another IG page (@chelleompt2), calling it the “cutest gift ever!” And it definitely was. “🛩️ Paris here we come 🤍” Haliburton’s excited girlfriend wrote. Are you confused about the lock and keys?

What’s your perspective on:

Will the Paris crowd's support for Wembanyama overshadow Haliburton's return to the city of love?

Have an interesting take?

There’s a well-known spot in Paris, the Pont des Arts bridge, popularly known as the “Love Lock Bridge.” Couples leave their mark by attaching locks with their names to the bridge and tossing the keys into the Seine River, symbolizing their lasting love. So, that was indeed a thoughtful gift to give the lovebirds. The mood is all set to travel to Paris.

The teams too must be mentally prepared for the challenge ahead. The Spurs are coming off a 3-game losing streak, so they’ll be desperate to take on the Pacers. And a boost from the home crowd will surely help with that. The Pacers, on the other hand, have won eight of their last ten games, so even if the crowd sides with Wemby and Co., the Eastern side could have the upper hand in this clash. The games will take place on January 23 and January 25 at the Accor Arena. So, if you’re someone living nearby, don’t wait too long. Go grab your tickets now for this action-packed East vs. West battle before it gets sold out.
