The sun hasn’t been shining so brightly on the Sunshine State lately. Instead of the usual warmth, all that’s been radiating out of Miami are whispers of Jimmy Butler, his suspensions and endless speculations on his future. But that’s enough already. His teammate, the $120 million guard, has now taken it upon himself to shift the spotlight to something far more crucial.

Can somebody please focus on the game? That’s how Tyler Herro has been feeling. The Heat just wrapped up a three-game winning streak right after three losses, and the lion’s share of the credit goes to the youngster for his game-high contributions (23 against Utah and 32 against Portland) in the last two wins. So, there was no way he was letting Jimmy’s controversies overshadow the team’s hard-fought success. After all, no player is bigger than the team.

Following the 119-98 victory against the Trail Blazers, Herro shared his thoughts in the locker room interview, “This is what we wanted, you know, just to get back on the road, get away from all the chaos.” The Jimmy vs. Pat Riley drama definitely had an impact on the team, so distancing themselves from it seemed like the right move. And it certainly worked well for them. Further highlighting what the Heat’s major agenda is, the 24-year-old added, “Just come out here and compete, you know, get back to who we are, get back to our identity, and I think we’re starting to see that a little bit on this road trip. Just got to keep it rolling.” But hold on, there’s more to it.

When asked what’s keeping the team motivated amid the concerns that the front office is facing, Herro boldly responded, “Just rallying around each other, making it about the guys that are here now, the guys that are in this locker room, and we got enough, so that’s all that matters.” We saw what you did right there Tyler, making your stance crystal clear about everything going on with Jimmy.

To briefly sum it up, Jimmy Butler expressed his unhappiness with the Heat on court which resulted in a seven-game suspension. What’s the root of all this? Of course, President Riley’s rejection of his maximum extension. But the $2.3 million loss he faces for this didn’t sit well with the NBAPA, so the case will be handled legally with the franchise for grievance. Despite the friction, there could still be a chance that the Texan might ultimately stay with the franchise, speculates an NBA insider.

More drama unfolds in Jimmy Butler saga with new update

There have been many suitors for Jimmy in the past couple of weeks, but the talks haven’t gone any further. While no updates have been reported on a trade linking him to a move away from Florida, a new development has emerged, creating a fresh new twist in the Jimmy Butler saga.

In a recent discussion with SiriusXM NBA Radio, veteran insider Bobby Marks said, “I think there is a strong likelihood that he’s on this roster when we get past February 6th, then he picks up that 52 (million).” He believes that Jimmy will stay back even after the trade deadline.

“I know it’s been reported that he’s gonna decline that option and become a free agent, but when you have $52 million on the table, you have to have a home to go to,” he added. There’s no denying that his player option amount for the next season is significant, and he might not want to turn it down, especially since no other franchise is willing to offer him the extension except the Suns. However, they too are in a complicated situation, as Bradley Beal’s no-trade clause is preventing them from acquiring the 35-year-old Heat star.

Marks believes that both Jimmy and the Heat will need each other so they will not part ways. But again, that’s just a prediction. Whether it actually works out or not will depend on his “attitude” once he returns to the Miami locker room. Jimmy’s expected to be back next week against Denver unless of course, he runs into any more trouble.
