Klay had an infamous beef with Ronnie 2k last year regarding his disappointment with 2k23 ratings, as per Sports Illustrated. The situation escalated when ESPN interviewed the NBA millionaire.
Eventually, though, he went through a “comin’ to Jesus moment” to realize his “loser behavior” and things sorted out. While talking about it on Podcast P with Paul George, he said, “I’m 32-year-old and I care about my 2K rating? God, please help me.”
Klay’s competitive nature came out in public in those moments and most of the fans did not like his approach to the beef. According to him, when he realized what he was doing made no sense, he stepped back. What also helped was his brother making him quit 2K23.
While further speaking about it, he mentioned on the podcast that he went on a hiatus from 2K23 after that. He channeled his inner aggression through other games since then. That’s who Klay Thompson is.
