The Minnesota Timberwolves‘ Anthony Edwards is rapidly becoming one of the biggest stars in the NBA. Aside from his lethal skills on the court, his outspoken nature also makes people gravitate towards Ant. And this side of Edwards was on full display when his team beat the Houston Rockets in their latest game. All this despite having the tag of the most reprimanded player currently in the NBA.
Dillon Brooks, tasked with guarding the effervescent Edwards, employed some old-school tactics to stop him. Namely, hitting him in the face and standing over him when he went down. This would begin a fierce on-and-off clash between them throughout the game.
Edwards would score in Brooks’ face and immediately begin taunting him. At one point, the camera on the court was able to pick up what Ant said. “That n—– b—-. F— wrong with this n—– talking all that s—?” questioned the 23-year-old, clearly mocking Brooks. Then once the game ended, Edwards remarked in the tunnel, “Watch who they’re talking to, n—–!” as he walked back to the locker room.

And it was Anthony Edwards who would have the last laugh as the Timberwolves began pulling away from the Rockets in the 4th quarter. And this was in no small part owed to Edwards’ contributions. After all, Ant-Man put 41 points past the Rockets. He registered 7 rebounds and 6 assists for good measure. Guess revenge is sweet.
Now, one thing worth remembering is that Anthony Edwards is the most heavily fined player in the NBA. His fines, amounting to $285,000, is an amount higher than the combined amount of the next 4 players on the list below him. Clearly, this was no issue for him. But don’t think Ant was done yet. No, he still had some choice words for Dillon Brooks to spare in front of the media right after the game.

Anthony Edwards calls out Dillon Brooks for “dirty s—” during Wolves-Rockets game
It’s quite evident that Anthony Edwards doesn’t appreciate Dillon Brooks’ methods of guarding him. However, for us fans, it does lead to exciting moments like the one that transpired yesterday. Even still, as one of the best trash-talkers in the NBA, Ant-Man cannot let behavior like that slide as he chose to talk to the media about Brooks’ antics on the court. And boy, did he rip him a new one!
“He’s a competitor. I love the competing part, but all the little slick little dirty s—…” Anthony paused. He continued, “Like he hit me in the face and then I fell, then he like ‘How much crying you gonna do?’ Like you hit me in my face?… We can compete all day, we can talk s— all day but when you get to doing that. It’s more than basketball at that point,” said Anthony Edwards, clearly ticked off about Brook’s behavior.

It’s a little ironic that Dillon Brooks asked Edwards that question after hitting him in the face. Especially since he was the one called out for flopping by the referee during the game. Nevertheless, we don’t think Edwards will lose any sleep over this encounter, especially after coming away with a win.
