Dallas will become the center of attraction for sports fans around the country. The American Airlines Center is the first arena since 2003 to host both NHL and NBA conference finals games in the same season. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will bring huge eyeballs to Dallas along with the NHL. The NHL’s Stars and NBA’s Mavericks, both sharing the 23-year-old American Airlines Center, have each made it to the conference finals in their respective leagues.
This marks the first occurrence since 2003 when NHL and NBA teams sharing the same arena reached the conference finals in the same year. So, it’s safe to say Dallas will make its fair share of dollars the next week.

The upcoming games at the American Airlines Center will be in May 23, 25, 26, and 28, with additional games possible based on the outcomes of the series. Arena leaders are working to maintain normal operations, emphasizing their routine handling of frequent transitions between the two sports and other events throughout the year. With retractable seating that transforms a 20,000-seat basketball arena into an 18,532-seat hockey rink, bringing fans closer to the action won’t be a problem.
Tickets going upwards of $200, the entire week is about to net Dallas a hefty $25 Million. This earning can be more considering the length of the series. If the series stretches to a game 7 then and Dallas eventually wins American Airlines will have to be ready to host both Finals but what are the Maverick’s chances?

Luka Doncic hasn’t been at his best this postseason due to a knee issue affecting his lift and explosiveness. Despite this, he averaged 24.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game against Lu Dort and the Thunder. However, he didn’t have any dominant 40+ point performances; instead, the Mavericks relied on team defense and support. For Dallas to win the series, Doncic must be the best player on the court, which will be challenging with Jaden McDaniels guarding him and Rudy Gobert as a help defender. Hopefully, the break between series will help his knee.
Conversely, for Minnesota to win, Anthony Edwards needs to be the standout player. Despite Dallas using Derrick Jones Jr. and P.J. Washington to defend him, Edwards is likely to excel. At 22, he already shows the ability to impact games, even when not scoring, as seen in Game 7 against Oklahoma City. Who is gonna win? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
