However, due to many advertisements and endorsements, many players end up making more than their actual skill level. For instance, before even entering the league many players become millionaires due to the hype surrounding them and the media does its part in generating the hype. Victor Wembanayama was touted as the best prospect since  LeBron James even before he entered the league.

Due to this, he was drafted no 1 in the 2023 draft by the San Antonio Spurs. This also resulted in a high salary even as a rookie. However, recently a social media post revealed that a 22-year-old tennis star earns enough to leave Wemby and 500 other NBA stars in the dust.

Iga Świątek is currently ranked number 1 in the world of tennis. In a recent post on X(Formerly known as Twitter), a post shows her earning more than 500 NBA players for competing at the highest level in tennis.

The post indicates that the 23-year-old tennis star earns about $23.9 Million, which is almost double what Wemby earns at $12,160.632 annually. Interestingly, the 7’4 phenom is the 128th in terms of earnings in the league which means that Świątek earns more money than the majority of the professional ballers. This says a lot as the NBA is among the most popular professional leagues in the world.

However, Wemby seems fine despite the Spurs being the last seed in the West. He has been performing well. Although recently, there was some concerns about Wembanyama being injury-prone.
