The college basketball class of 2025 looks set to heat up with AJ Dybantsa leading the wolf pack. The BYU Cougars remain ready to poach him to the team with an NIL valuation of $2 million. However, the spotlight goes to Kiyan Anthony and Bryce James, naturally, because their dads are NBA legends. In one major loss, though, Kiyan lost $22k in his latest NIL valuation, which could help Bryce James stay on top.
Notably, Kiyan now stays in 11th with $1.1 million, with Syracuse Orange being the potential suitor. He is on the verge of joining the college with the decision he likely would announce on 15th November. The valuation descended after he signed an agreement with WME for NIL representation. It’s also represented by his mother, La La Anthony. Although no specific analysis remains for the player’s journey down the ladder, this decision could probably backfire.
It presumably paves the way for the son of LeBron James to carve out a major NCAA program. With Bronny already making it to the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryce too, with the team, and LeBron playing into his 40s? It’s a family affair, after all. Nevertheless, the secrecy remains intact on where the 6’6 guard put pen to paper. Some options exist, though.

As of now, he received offers from the Ohio State Buckeyes and Duquesne. The Buckeyes have a 93% chance of poaching him, while Duquesne has a 7% chance. Yet, he could go to Duquesne with another personal collection. Notably, LeBron James’ state champion teammate at St Vincent-St. Mary High School, Dru Joyce III is the head coach of Duquesne. It could probably be a selling point for Bryce to attend the college of his liking.

It’s incredible to see the number of kids in the NBA who want to follow their fathers. Apart from Bryce and Kiyan, Cameron Boozer will commit to the Duke Blue Devils. However, some people stated Bryce is “not a Top 100 player right now.”
Bryce James’ ability is in question, with Kiyan Anthony leading the way
In a tweet by Kevin Sweeney of Sports Illustrated on X, he stated, “Bryce James being a top-100 recruit is significantly worse than anything Bronny-related over the last two years.” There were mumbles over Bronny James’ ability to play in the NBA and how it could be a case of nepotism. Therefore, we can see those similar mumbles when Bryce gets to choose his college.

Can family ties and legacy outweigh talent in the race for top college basketball recruits?
Have an interesting take?
When discussing LeBron James’ son, Bronny, he was also seen as a four-star recruit ahead of his brief college tenure. As for Bryce, don’t sleep on him. He averaged 5.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in prep school to showcase Peach Jam earlier during the summer. He also had 1.0 blocks across 22.2 minutes and shot 31% from the field.
The player shares a lovely relationship with Kiyan Anthony, and they remain close friends. In fact, Kiyan loves LeBron James and is often in awe when he sees him. The college selections look good for Kiyan and Bryce as palpable tension arises when it comes to seeing where they land.
