Along with it, the Summer League 2023 showcased the potential future star for the Dubs in 22-year-old Lester Quiñones. However, the Dubs didn’t seem to stop their hunting spree as they roped in another youngster, leaving the Dubnation in a frenzy.

Hours before the youngster’s trade update, the NBA world buzzed about the inclusion of Dwight Howard in the Dubs roster. Even before the buzz subsided, the Warriors came up with a new update. Additionally, the 21-year-old rising star, Usman Garuba, has a lot to prove in the upcoming season. The 6 ‘8 star sent out a strong message to the sporting world when the Oklahoma City Thunder waived him in the offseason. On the other hand, the Dubnation erupted in joy, as the team strengthened its defense.

The Houston Rockets picked Usman Garuba as the #23 pick in the 2021 draft. The rising star didn’t get much game time in these two years as his average game time was around 12 minutes. However, Sports Illustrated stated that Garuba has a defensive potential. Following his two years in the league, the Thunders signed him up in the off season, only to waive him in late August. OKC’s move didn’t sit well with the rising star, as he took to his X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, “I’ll prove everyone wrong. Mark my words.”

While the star was waiting to prove himself in the big stage, the Dubs took the chance to give him the opportunity. The Warriors signed a two-way contract with Garuba, reported Sports Illustrated. Moreover, the Dubnations’ cry for a big man has finally been answered by the management.

Furthermore, looking at the current roster of the Warriors, it still looks like Garuba would be coming off the bench.
