Luka Doncic is finally a Laker, and the dust is slowly settling. The Mavericks’ heartbreaks aside, everyone in Los Angeles is eagerly awaiting his debut at the Crypto.com Arena. While Doncic has been sitting courtside attending his new team’s games, fans surely want more from the newcomer. And who would not want it? But when do fans get to see him step on the court and compete alongside LeBron James and the rest of the Los Angeles roster?

To get an idea, it was initially reported that the 25-year-old superstar could make his highly anticipated debut on Saturday against the Pacers. However, that has been pushed back to Monday, when the L.A. Lakers take on the Jazz. So will the Monday match-up see the debut of Doncic or there will be more wait? That said, during an interview his teammate Christian Koloko delivered some exciting news for the Lakers nation.

The Lakers big man commented on what it is like to play with the Slovenian. “We played all day, we played five with Luka, and it was just amazing how good he is, and then his vision for the game, and he just played at his own pace. He knows where to find you, where to find you.” Koloko said. The 24-year-old can’t hold his excitement to play alongside Doncic and LeBron, as they amplify his game.

Interestingly, the biggest takeaway from here is that Luka Doncic is on the right trajectory to hit the court. His playing fives with his new teammates is a testament to this. Moreover, this means Lakers loyalists will not have to wait much longer, and Monday could finally be the day they see Doncic donning the Lakers jersey, for the first time. Furthermore, let’s see what JJ Redick has to say about Doncic’s debut.

This comes after Doncic participated in a 5-on-5 game with his teammates and has experienced no setbacks in his recovery process. “All is well. All is positive,” Redick noted. “Hopefully we get the word at some point in the next few days that he is going to play. We all want to see him in a Laker uniform.” All the hints lead to one road—Doncic is all set to suit up soon. However, the Lakers medical staff is trying to rush his recovery as they want them healthy for the rest of the campaign. Hence the caution.
