Does Stephen Curry deserve to be mentioned alongside LeBron and Jordan, or is it too soon?

Stephen Curry‘s 36 and 24-point super-hauls still have the hoops community in awe of the Warrior. He stretched the margin in the Olympic Finals to avoid a close-cut game, while in the semi-finals, his 9 of 14 3-point shooting was the highlight. Well, such performances deserve a reward, and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. just knows how. The $24.38 billion company has given Stephen Curry exclusive space to stand alongside Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant.

The parent company of the NBA 2K game has announced the addition of a new era to the game’s MyNBA mode titled “The Steph Era.” It’s worth noting that this category already contains legendary storylines. The first category is the Magic vs. Bird Era. Following the footprint, other legends got their place with the titles Jordan Era, Kobe Era, and LeBron Era.

NBA 2K players will now be able to experience one of the greatest NBA eras, starting their in-game journey from 2016. When Stephen Curry put GSW back on the Championship map in 2015, it was ‘the moment’ in the Dubs dynasty.

“Paying respect to arguably the best shooter to ever live, we welcome The Steph Era as another historic NBA Era. The new additions are designed to create a unique world of basketball fully under your control,” Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA 2K Development at Visual Concepts said.

Along with his shooting splash, users will also get to play alongside Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. But there’s a burning Curry-related question in my head which many of you will probably fancy an answer for as well. Let’s dive right in.

Why does The Steph Era not start from his rookie days in NBA 2K?

Have an interesting take?

The period from which the NBA 2K is allowing gamers to relive the Golden State Era begins after the 2014-15 season NBA title victory. The Warriors were unstoppable till the 2018-19 season. They won the NBA finals in 2017 and 2018 after their breakout victory. Out of those 5 seasons, Stephen Curry made it to all the Finals and secured the title in 3 of them. They also marked a milestone record for NBA teams, as they racked up 73 game wins in the 2015-16 season.

Stephen Curry, being the face of the Warriors and the league, kept the Dubs offense at max efficiency. Later, Kevin Durant’s cherry on the top addition in free agency only meant that every opposition was going to find it even harder. That’s why the game’s new storyline represents the league icon Stephen Curry, not the Warriors’ journey as a whole.

Nevertheless, it is quite an achievement for Steph Curry to share the same podium as his fellow NBA legends. After completing his hoops resume with the Paris Olympics Gold, the Golden Boy has further grown his legacy. It is quite majestic how the Splash Brother is even delivering at the end of his prime. Do you think he’ll win another Championship before retirement? Let us know.
