Stephen Curry is a happy man tonight after the Golden State Warriors defeated the Brooklyn Nets 124-120. The Warriors were without the ace Draymond Green and were facing back-to-back losses. They won the Nets encounter in style and Stephen Curry had a night to celebrate for his milestone. Curry became the first player in NBA history to reach 3500 threes. While the veteran who has revolutionized basketball was cheerful enough, he showed joy for Keegan Murray’s exploits too.

Keegan Murray received a standing ovation as he exited the game with the historical feat. But getting applause from the master of the tradecraft himself made it even bigger.

Sacramento Kings defeated the Utah Jazz with a comfortable 125-124 score. Keegan Murray was the man of the moment and king of the Kings in the game. He scored 47 points and made 12 3-pointers. He became the first player in NBA history to have 11 straight made threes. The fireworks of Murray caught the attention of Stephen Curry, who expressed joy at the feat.

He was asked about the same by a reporter during the media interaction as the game was in the third quarter. As one maker of history expressed joy over another history maker’s exploits, it made the moment itself historical. “12 of 13 is nuts!” Further, he added as he kept enquiring about the ongoing game, “It’s crazy what he’s doing.”Curry expressed surprise while stressing that Murray needs to make it consistent.

After the game, Keegan Murray compared his game with his college days. He talked about getting into the flow that helped him perform wonders in the third quarter. Murray said, “It kind of reminded me of my senior year in college. I got hot, went into a trance for a moment and everything was going in. That’s kind of what happened in the third quarter.”

The third-quarter wonders helped Murray get a place in the elite company of three-point scorers where he will rub shoulders with Stephen Curry, metaphorically.
