Jalen Brunson happens to get rejected by none other than the famous American film director and Knicks fan, Spike Lee. Appearing for the All-Star Game, Lee showcased his love for the Knicks star guard with a Brunson puffer. Yet, when he requested the 66-year-old for his presence at his golf charity event, he outright declined the idea.
Spike reasoned that he doesn’t play golf. It was quite surprising that he would pointedly refuse to even entertain the idea, given that he seemingly loves the New York team and their star guard. But to each his own. Even so, the Academy-award winning director has not turned his back on his favorite team.
Joining the NBA Inside crew ahead of the All-Star Game, Spike Lee had a warning for the league. And particularly for the Boston Celtics, given that they are the top-seeded East team. Lee acknowledged that the Knicks had key pieces sidelined due to injuries. But he was confident enough to give a “Boston, watch out,” warning when they get healthy.

When Shaq wasn’t convinced with the reasons provided by Spike, he further detailed that the Knicks shot a lot of three pointers. New York is in the 12th place for the most three-pointers made this season at 713. And they have averaged 35.2 3PA per game. And that they have got “some defense”. Ranking 9th in defensive rating in the league currently is pretty neat for “some” defense.
But back to the festivities in Indy, the East has won the 73rd All-Star Game 211-186.
The Eastern Conference takes home the win tonight
The Damian Lillard-led East crosses the 200 mark for the first time in the NBA All-Star history! Leading the scorers for the night, Dame finished with 39 points and 11 three-pointers. And just like that the Bucks star-guard took home the Kobe Bryant trophy, becoming the MVP.

Tyrese Haliburton led the way with five three-pointers in the first quarter itself to set the stage. The East ensured to keep that momentum going forward as the whole team came together for a group effort. Despite Karl-Anthony Towns catching fire in the fourth quarter, there wasn’t much of a balance from the top names of the group. KAT finished with 50 points in 28 minutes of game time!
LeBron James had 8 points, Luka Doncic had 7 (triple 7, even!), Anthony Davis landed 6 while Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant contributed 16 and 18 points, respectively. Aside from Lillard, Jaylen Brown and Haliburton scored in the 30s to finish the night.
