The ongoing NBA season has provided the opportunity for some young talent to rise through the ranks and shine brightly. Many people have seen the spectacular performances and records already set by Victor Wembanyama. However, another rookie that is slowly starting to gain more prominence amongst basketball fans and enthusiasts is Golden State Warriors starter Trayce Jackson-Davis. Within the past few games, he has pulled off a great offensive play and managed to defend amongst some of the best that the league has to offer. His performance is not getting ignored by NBA fans, as evident from a recent social media post.

The latest Spurs vs Warriors faceoff saw Jackson-Davis taking the lead during the 4 quarter. One such moment occurred as Wembanyama attempted to defend the Warriors rookie, but the latter posterized the French player by rushing and dunking the ball over him. From fans to his teammates, no one could believe what they saw through their very own eyes. The official account of ‘The Warriors Talk’ seemed to have jokingly taken a dig at Wembanyama’s French origin by writing “They’re called American Fries now buddy.”

The comments section of this hilarious post soon filled up with like-minded individuals. Another user highlighted his reaction after watching the Spurs-Warriors game by claiming “Omg. TDJ is better than Wemby.”

NBC reporter Monte Poole was also quick in reacting to this moment. He took to his official X account and wrote “Warriors have a rookie second-round pick rejecting Giannis Antetokounmpo twice in one possession last week and flushing over Victor Wembanyama five days later. Trayce Jackson-Davis’ game-changing stuff is becoming spectacle.”

Replying to the above-mentioned remark, an individual made his prediction for Jackson-Davis and another Warriors rookie, Brandin Podziemski, by writing “Podz and TJD probably both lottery picks if they redrafted”. Given that Podziemski has already managed to secure an average of 9.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists to his game, the comment may carry some merit.

Getting a sense of his performance now, many people would have started wondering how on earth was Jackson-Davis not selected in the first round of the 2023 draft but instead ended up as the 57 pick during the second round. One of them took to the comments section to write “He’s so nice. Unbelievable he fell out of the first round”.

With the Warriors rookie gaining the reputation of an early prodigy, another social media user send his flowers by writing “TRAYCE is the next evolution of the Warriors”.
