Year 2010 in Cleveland was crazy. LeBron James leaving the franchise caused a lot of mayhem. Fans who adored him lashed out at such blatant disrespect. Media channels were milling about like a bunch of gnats in hopes of getting the most coverage. And Cleveland stood like a damsel in distress. Helpless at the treachery meted out at the hands of her beloved. Or that’s how the whole saga was penned at the time.
Ask anybody after the whole affair died down, and they would collectively agree that LeBron James made the right decision. Okay, maybe the dragging it out was a little over the top. But The King does have a flair for dramatics when he feels like it.

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce are quite popular for being the funniest family duo. Travis has got much media love (read: women) for his good looks. He even appeared in a TV show called Catching Kelce (2016). Which is way too similar to ‘The Bachelor’. Unfortunately, none of the ladies caught him nor did he manage to block potential love.
Recently, LeBron James showed his love for the brothers’ podcast New Heights. He said he looked forward to being invited to the show very soon. And now, Travis touches the subject lightly in their latest episode. While Jason makes a light reference to the Cleveland affair, Travis is in complete support of the iconic basketball legend.
“I feel like a school kid again. A little school girl, sh*t’s cool man … It was electric it was like the hometown hero coming to save the day of a failing franchise, all to be backstabbed,” Jason says.
Travis lightens the mood quickly by reminding his brother that LeBron came back in 2016 and they even attended one of the games. Sly fox, that one.
How does LeBron leaving the Cavaliers make sense today?
For all the rampage that happened when LeBron announced his decision to take his talents to South Beach, a lot of today’s players are thankful to him. What many missed in the very emotional state of mind was how little control players had. When LeBron decided he had enough of being a puppet, he ensured that it stayed burned in the memories. Quite sure it went down in history too.
Had James not left Cleveland that day, we wouldn’t have seen the man that everybody worships today. Not just as a basketball legend, but as a catalyst for change(s). When James went to Miami to create his super team, it led to other super teams. Whether these teams became successful, we leave it to our readers. Without LeBrons’ move, it’s unlikely that Kevin Durant, perhaps the game’s second-best player, would have ever gone to the Warriors.

“The Decision” has provided some serious power in the hands of players. And on that note, LeBron calling Trump “Bum” will forever be etched into our memory.

Though this player control has given rise to major disapprovals from the GMs and Presidents, in the bigger picture, it does seem like the right decision.
