Kyle Kuzma clueless again—should he stick to basketball and leave politics alone?

After weeks of deliberation following his debate performance, which was termed “abysmal” by political commentators, President Joe Biden has now announced that he will no longer run in the 2024 Presidential Election. This makes him the first incumbent president since Lyndon Johnson to not run for re-election. The decision comes in the aftermath of several of his own party members calling for the 81-year-old to step down, for various reasons. This recent update has sent America into a mood of major discussion and debate, with 28-year-old Kyle Kuzma weirdly weighing in as well.

Taking to his official X account, the Washington Wizards star posted his reaction barely an hour after the official announcement from the White House. Instead of offering his sympathies or his support to either party who would be running for the election, the NBA player asked, “So why did democrats want biden out?”

Kuzma’s remark comes after Biden’s 2024 Presidential Debate against Donald Trump. Over 3 dozen lawmakers had reportedly publicly voiced their opinion for the President to end his reelection bid. Simultaneously, other individuals like former POTUS Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and other politicians reportedly had a private talk with Biden about whether staying on is the right decision for him and the Democratic Party.

After the decision was announced, the lawmakers welcomed it and praised Biden for putting the country’s future first. This isn’t the first time that Kyle Kuzma has taken a shot at Joe Biden. In late June, in response to the politician’s tweet about taxes for the middle class, the player reportedly put out a sarcastic post featuring a gif of MLB Player Joey Gallo scratching his head. However, it didn’t take long for him to get trolled by the critics over his remark. Now, it seems like history is repeating itself.

The NBA faithful remind Kyle Kuzma of his horror season, as he posts his candid reaction to President Joe Biden’s decision

No sooner had the 2020 NBA Champion put out his recent reaction when social media users descended onto the comments section to share their views. For his question today on the internet, one fan took an outright shot at Kyle Kuzma stating, “He’s tired of watching the Wizards”.

Have an interesting take?

They’ve failed to make the playoffs since 2021, the tournament after Kyle Kuzma was traded to them from the Lakers. Furthermore, they have also been unable to move past the 12 seed on the points chart since then. Their performance during the 2023-24 season reached a saddening low, as the franchise set a 15-67 W/L loss, only one win more than the Detroit Pistons’ 14-68.

Another individual simply asked Kuzma himself to hand out the answer. After all, he is a proud resident of the Capital city, Washington DC.

Kuzma’s trade to the Wizards compelled him to change his place of residence three years ago. LeBron James lauded the move through Instagram by stating “DC so fire. Love that city. Dope place.” Kuzma himself has made the best of the situation, opening his own coffee shop named Childhood Cafe, a reference to the player’s lifestyle brand, Childhood Dreams.

Another social media user put an all-out troll response to the 28-year-old’s tweet. While the fan’s “They didn’t think he lined up with their timeline” response may look innocent on the surface, the commenter knew what they were doing when writing the same.

During the trade deadline earlier this year, the Dallas Mavericks were looking to engage in a trade that would bring in Kyle Kuzma. However, the player himself chose to reject the trade offer, stating “I just felt like our timelines didn’t line up.” Given how the Wizards had the second-worst record during the 2023-24 season, and while the Mavs reached the NBA Finals, there were surely some regrets!

Another social media user commented, “Have you lived in America the past 4 years.” Since taking office in 2021, Biden has had his share of ups and downs. The sudden rise in inflation, the aftermath of the US Troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan, and other things significantly impacted his image amongst the public.

In this same debate, Biden often lost his train of thought, answering in a non-coherent manner. At one point, he and Trump started to debate about their golf skills, which several members of the NBA fraternity found humorous. Overall, the reactions to Kyle Kuzma’s tweet were somewhat mixed. A few of them outright trolled the player by making use of his recent NBA troubles, while others just explained why Biden chose to do what he did. With the news being fresh, it may not be long before other members of the NBA world share their reactions as well.
