As the Los Angeles Lakers prepare to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night, questions loom large about their lineup. JJ Redick, who has been stepping into a more inclusive coaching role this season, stayed tight-lipped when asked about the Lakers’ lineup for the game.
When a reporter asked if he had any idea about tomorrow in terms of who would show up, Redick replied bluntly, “None.” After a beat, he added, “I’ll find out when you find out,” leaving everyone guessing and adding an air of mystery to the showdown in Minnesota.
But on the injury front, the Purple & Gold has several game-time decisions. D’Angelo Russell’s (illness), Cam Reddish’s (illness), and Austin Reaves’ (left pelvic contusion) availability all determined closer to tip-off. Of course, the other three names – Jarred Vanderbilt (right foot surgery recovery), Jaxson Hayes (right ankle sprain/contusion), and Christian Wood (left knee surgery recovery) remain out as they focus on recovering.

The Timberwolves, though, have fewer uncertainties. Only Joe Ingles (left soleus strain) is listed as ‘out’ vs. Los Angeles, missing his fourth straight game. Undoubtedly, Anthony Edwards & Co. will look to capitalize on the Lakers’ second game of a back-to-back. Both teams, however, are eager to get back on track after inconsistent starts to the season.
The Los Angeles team, finding their stride on the road, has a record of 5-5 after a shaky start of 1-4. Their close win over Jazz tonight offers the hope that they can carry the momentum to the Target Center, scheduled to tip off at 8:00 PM ET. The Wolves, on the other hand, are reeling. Currently sitting at 9-10 and 11th in the West, they have lost 7 out of their last 10 games.
A shocking turn for a squad that reached the Western Conference Finals last season!

For the Los Angeles Lakers, though, all eyes will be on how JJ Redick manages rotations amid injuries and fatigue from playing the night before. The Lakers’ bench has shown flashes of brilliance this season. With Russell, Reaves, and Reddish sidelined, the reserves have the perfect opportunity to make an impact.
Monday’s game will be one of desperation. Both teams will be looking to avoid sliding further down the standings. The stakes couldn’t be higher with JJ guarding his cards and the Wolves desperate to take advantage of home court (and a tired group). Stay tuned!
