Steve Nash was a gifted point guard from his time. But his tenure as a head coach did not go off to the right start as he was fired from the Brooklyn Nets head coaching position after the stars expressed their displeasure.
Both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were not happy with the way Nash coached the team and his game plan for matchups. This ultimately resulted in multiple losses and eventually Nash losing his job.
In a recent interview on NBA on ESPN, Kyrie Irving talked about re-signing with the Dallas Mavericks. He also revealed who he wanted as the next head coach of the Nets after Steve Nash left.
During the interview, one of the interviewers asked him if he could envision playing for his favorite player Jason Kidd. Irving revealed that he could never see that coming and the way everything played out.
He went on to say, ?I knew I had mentors that I could always lean in on. And that was J-Kidd, he was one of them. He always said I could call him, always pick his brain. Even when we had a vacancy in Brooklyn, I wanted to see if he could come and coach us.?

Kyrie Irving was nine-years-old growing up in Brooklyn when Jason Kidd was traded to the Nets. And he instantly became his favorite player. No wonder Irving was seeking if Kidd would come over.

But eventually, things worked out in favor of Irving. He was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks where Jason Kidd was already the head coach. Now, the only thing remains is for fans to see how this star-coach duo does wonders on the hardwood floor.
