Having demolished the Charlotte Hornets 133-119, the Phoenix Suns now have a two-game win streak. But their 3x All-Star, Bradley Beal, is not too happy. Talking to reporters post-game, he gave a blunt response.

Beal just posted six points, seven assists, and three rebounds in 30 minutes of game time. So it could be the frustration of his performance, but he called the Suns’ defense tonight “a little bit trash.” It is to be noted that this game marked the return of Bradley Beal to the court as an ankle sprain had kept him out since December 15. It was also the third time this season that the Suns’ formidable Big 3 of Booker, Durant, and Beal reunited. And it was their first victory together.

Devin Booker took the lead with 35 points for the night. Jusuf Nurkic scored 24 points, with Kevin Durant and Eric Gordon landing 21 points each.

This was a much-needed win for the Suns as they had a 15-15 record before this match. Not only do they have one more win than the number of losses this season after this victory, but it also marks their first back-to-back win in over a month. Will they make it a turnaround moment of their season and finally change the trajectory and make a push for the playoffs? That is a question yet to be answered.

A disappointing season for the Phoenix Suns and Bradley Beal

In pursuit of winning a championship, the Suns made some major moves in the summer, including a change in the leadership. They let go of Chris Paul, a crucial element of their team and a veteran leader who fired them into the NBA finals two years back, ending their 10-year playoff drought. In return, they added Bradley Beal to the mix and thus created the lethal combination of Big-3. Despite having a roster that can win them a title, it appears that all their moves have not paid off.

Meanwhile, Bradley Beal’s season is not going the way the fans expected when he was brought into the team to join Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Injuries have plagued his season, and he has only played seven games so far. Due to multiple injuries, he first missed a major chunk of games at the start of the season. At that time, he was dealing with issues with his back. His return to the team only lasted two games, plus a few minutes in the third.

During the Knicks-Suns game three days after his return, he landed on Donte DiVincenzo’s foot and sprained his ankle. He didn’t play after and missed five consecutive games before his return on Friday. Fortunately, his return came with a win for his team, even though he was not very happy with the performance. Fans would hope that he now stays fit for the rest of the season and changes the fortune of his side, which is languishing in the lower half of the Western Conference standings.
