This offseason, every team is looking to strengthen their roster for the next season. The Boston Celtics have been making moves left and right. They’ve even had an eventful time leading up to and during the 2023 NBA draft. The big blockbuster Kristaps Porzingis trade saw them lose their star player Marcus Smart from the squad.

Most of their attention is on star players like Lillard and Harden requesting a trade from their respective teams. Meanwhile, Celtics seem to be happy with their current squad. They’re looking at preparing contract extensions for the 26-year-old star. And we hear the contract can easily make Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s contracts look small.

After two near-successful seasons and nine years in the team, Celtics let go of their 2022 Defensive Player of the Year to land the 7’3″ big man. And now that they have secured a stable roster, they’re looking to offer a jaw-dropping contract extension to their star player Jaylen Brown.

The President of Basketball Operations, Brad Stevens and Boston Celtics are currently in touch with Brown’s agent, Jason Glushon. Together, they are working out a potential contract extension as per ESPN NBA Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski.

This is a deal that would be the richest contract extension in NBA history. It’d be worth up to $304 million and in the final year of that deal, Jaylen Brown would be making almost $70 million,” Wojnarowski said.

While the 2x NBA All-Star is currently abroad on players’ association business, we expected talks to resume when he returns. With a possible value of $304 million, this contract extension would be the most expensive in NBA history, with Brown earning roughly $70 million in the final year.

In the negotiations, there are still additional considerations to take into account. They’ll need to figure out many things such as trade kickers, player option years, and payment schedules. However, they have all summer to resolve their differences.

The all-time 3pt leader Stephen Curry made history in 2017 by signing the first-ever $200 million contract. Last year, he extended his deal with the Golden State Warriors for $215.35 million, making him the first to have two consecutive $200+ million contracts.

On the other hand, 2x NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo’s last contract extension was in 2021 worth $228,200,420.

Nikola Jokic’s contract was the biggest yet when he recently signed a Supermax extension worth $270,000,000 with the Denver Nuggets. But Boston Celtics are preparing to make the biggest contract extension in NBA history for Jaylen Brown.
