The 2008 USA team was named the ‘redeem-team’ throughout their stint in the Olympics. It was a clever nod to the iconic 1992 ‘Dream Team.’ Furthermore, the moniker reflected their past battles at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2006 FIBA World Championship. The goal was to erase the disappointments by clinching an Olympic gold.

In a recent unfolding, Dwight Howard, the youngest member of the Redeem team, is seen reminiscing his old Olympics days. Recently, he has been actively posting about his time with the national squad. He claims that the 2008 USA team version can clinch the gold even in the 2024 Olympics. While reposting his post on his story, he wrote, “This team would still take it home.”
