Stars of the league usually get numerous brand endorsements thrown at them. Apart from companies pursuing stars for advertisements and such, one thing fans eagerly wait for is their favorite player’s signature shoe. Having a player’s signature sneaker is the next step after having their jersey. But fans on social media seem more repulsed than excited for the new signature shoe of Devin Booker.
Devin Booker signed a multi-year deal with Nike last year. The $162.58 billion brand just dropped the first look at Booker’s debut signature shoe online. And fans are clearly not on board with it.

Fans get their first look at Booker’s signature shoe
Booker has famously worn Kobes for most of his NBA career. The 26-year-old has been a longtime fan of the Mamba, and even received direct mentorship from Bryant when he first entered the league. In his rookie year, also the year of Kobe’s retirement, Booker received a unique signature from the 5-time champion. “Be legendary”, Kobe wrote on the rookie’s shoes, setting serious ambitions in the young buck’s mind.
Now, 7 years later, the Phoenix Suns’ All-Star shooting guard Devin Booker has been one of the biggest young stars in the NBA. So, it was only natural for him to get his first signature shoe.

After signing a multi-year deal with Nike, the company just released its first look at Devin Booker‘s debut sneaker. And the initial response from the fanbase has been rather negative as fans slammed Booker and Nike both.
Booker’s signature shoe is getting ripped to shreds by fans for being a close replica of the Nike SB Blazer low. Fans are even going as far as to call out the company and blame them for a lack of creativity and imagination.
In fact, a lot of other fans are comparing his debut sneaker to the Air Force 1’s as well. But all in all, the online community is clearly not happy with Nike’s design for the three-time All-Star’s signature shoe.
Devin Booker and Nike slammed for the design
The first look at Booker’s signature shoe has fans fuming over the design of his debut sneaker. Some are even calling it a copy of Ja Morant’s latest sneakers that are in the market.

Another fan felt that Nike’s lack of effort on the shoes was downright “disrespectful”.
Is that all Nike can do for Book? Disrespectful, if true.

Fans in the comments section could not help but slam Nike for its poor design and lack of creativity. They are even urging the company to hire new creatives. Let’s see if Nike actually goes back to the lab and works on Booker’s new sneakers. If they don’t, the initial reaction does not seem to reflect a big market for the debut drop.
