Even though the Celtics strengthened their offence by adding Jrue Holiday, the team lost two of its stars in the pursuit. In order to get the point guard, the team gave in Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams III to the Portland Trail Blazers. Despite the advantage, Williams III’s exit didn’t sit well with the franchise superstar. Hours after the trade, Celtics star Jayson Tatum penned heartfelt farewell note to former teammate on his Instagram story.
Tatum shared Williams’ picture on his IG story and wrote a heartwarming message. The note read, “This one hurt. My brother right there. Toughest part about this business, appreciate out for everything. Super proud of the player you have become and excited to see how far you take it.”
