LeBron James is a freak of nature. He will turn 39 this December but is not showing any signs of slowing down. When LeBron left a cryptic message, hinting at his retirement after getting swept by Nikola Jokic and Co in last season’s Western Conference Finals, the NBA world thought the 4-time Champion did not have enough left in the tank. But King James had the time to recover from his loss and decided to enter his 21st season in pursuit of his 5th title. The Los Angeles Lakers immediately made some significant moves to improve their roster and surround LeBron and AD with talented young players.

One of those players was 6’11 Center Jaxson Hayes. LeBron caught his new teammate off guard with his unreal athleticism while the Center was in the middle of an interview.

Jaxson Hayes was among the many players who were added to the LA Lakers roster this off-season. He signed a 2-year $4,628,946 contract with the Lakers, adding some much-needed size to the roster. Hayes addressed the media during a Lakers practice session ahead of their first preseason game against the Warriors. Hayes stopped mid-sentence during his interview because he was taken aback by LeBron’s crazy self-alley-oop windmill dunk behind the reporters. “I wasn’t ready for that.” Hayes said, shocked by the insane athleticism of the 38-year-old legend.

Hayes is an athletic big, who has had his share of crazy in-game dunks during his days in New Orleans. So, it speaks volumes when an athletic 23-year-old player like Hayes is left speechless by the athleticism of King James. LeBron James will enter his 21st NBA season as the oldest player in the league after Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala announced their retirement this summer. But it seems like age has had no effect on The Akron Hammer.

LeBron James is leading the Lakers by example

At 38 years old, LeBron is still arguably the best player on his team. After a disappointing exit from last season’s playoffs, the 19-time All-Star wants to win his 5th Championship this season. Rob Pelinka has made many great moves this summer to surround his two superstars with solid teammates. But it is LeBron who is leading the pack by example.
