Post’s move to the Golden State Warriors came with its fair share of challenges. It was hard for him to believe he was truly there, along with Stephen Curry. Then there was the added pressure of working with a championship head coach like Steve Kerr. But Kerr was patient and understanding whenever Post made mistakes.

“I’m really grateful for how much leniency he’s shown me, especially at the start,” Post said about Kerr. “Things weren’t easy and it came with a lot of hardship,” the recently turned 25-year-old said to the Boston Globe. “He let me play through that and now I feel like I’m part of the team. I know what is expected from me and I know I have some type of value for this team. It’s been a roller coaster but it’s also been really cool.”

Despite the bumps along the way, Kerr let Post play through the struggles, and now he feels like a key player on the team, fully aware of his role and value. It’s been a wild ride for him, but one that’s definitely worth the ticket.

Honestly, it was his three years at Boston College that taught him to be NBA-ready. “I enjoyed my three years at BC,” Post confessed. “I loved playing under coach [Earl] Grant. They let me play with a sort of freedom that unlocked the style of play that also translated to the NBA level.” But the $2.39 million transition for two years wouldn’t have been as smooth without the support of his Warriors teammates.

Draymond Green’s crazy confession helped Quinten Post

Quinten Post had an impressive 18-point performance against the Raptors, which not only impressed Draymond Green but also made him proud. Green had been the one to speak to Warriors majority owner about the young 7-footer.

“I told Joe Lacob in training camp, like ‘Joe, I’m telling you, this kid can really help us. He shoots the ball well, extremely well. He’s a good position defender, and he ain’t soft at all,'” Green revealed to the media. “I know Joe was looking at me like I was crazy when I told him he was gonna have an impact and he was in the G League,” the 4x champion added. “But, he made his way up here, and he’s been a mainstay in the rotation. He’s been a key piece to what we’re doing. No surprise there.”

He recalled telling Lacob that Post would make an impact, even when he was in the G League. And his prediction came true as Post worked hard and secured a spot for himself in the team’s rotation. Now, having played 33 games with the Warriors, Post is averaging 8.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. While his stats may not jump off the page, his effort on the floor certainly leaves a lasting impression.
