Balancing a family of four is no small feat. But the journey has been nothing short of magical for Ayesha Curry and her husband, NBA superstar Steph Curry. Nine months after welcoming their youngest son, the couple shared how their older children have embraced their new roles as big siblings—and how their family dynamic has blossomed unexpectedly.
Ayesha had previously shared a hilarious parenting moment, revealing how her 6-year-old son, Canon, keeps her on her toes with his unfiltered honesty. She recalled him running into the kitchen and bluntly asking if she was expecting another baby. But this one is more wholesome.
In an exclusive interview with People.com, Ayesha gushed about how their older kids—Riley, Ryan, and Caius—have stepped up since the arrival of their baby brother. Riley, the eldest, has taken on a nurturing role, while their little brother’s milestones fascinated Ryan and Canon, from his first crawl to his infectious giggles. “The girls are like little moms,” Ayesha shared. “It’s the best decision we’ve ever made, honestly.”

The couple initially worried about the six-year age gap between their son and Cai, but those concerns quickly faded. “He truly feels like a big brother,” Ayesha said of their son. “He only wants to protect him. There’s no jealousy. I love it.”
This unexpected harmony has made the transition smoother than they could have imagined. With their youngest now nine months old, crawling, laughing, and saying “dad,” the Currys are savoring every moment of this new chapter. For them, it’s a beautiful reminder of the joy which comes when love and patience guide the way.
But her kids still don’t take precedence over her first love, Steph.
Ayesha Curry makes it clear, Steph will always be her priority
Ayesha just dropped some real talk about relationships—hers with Steph always comes first, even before parenting. And honestly? It makes sense. In a chat with People.com, she broke down how she balances being a wife and a mom of four while keeping her marriage strong.
“I think for us, our relationship always comes first,” the 35-year-old shared. “Then we’re parents.” That mindset, she explained, is the key to a happy home. When the partnership is solid, everything else falls into place. “That works for us because then you have two happy people raising the kids in the house,” she added. “So the family sector in our lives always comes first.”
It’s easy to see why they’ve lasted. Ayesha and the Warriors‘ superstar go way back—they met as teens, tied the knot in 2011 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and now have a full house. Riley, 12, Ryan, 9, and Canon, 6, keep them on their toes, and baby Caius will hit one year in May.

Balancing it all isn’t easy, but Ayesha swears by putting their marriage first. And honestly? That’s some solid advice. In a world where relationships can take a backseat to parenting, they’ve figured out a way to make it work—and it’s paying off.
