James has even featured in some of these music videos himself. And now, he has announced the arrival of a fresh track with full excitement.

A fan of the rapper, James has, on multiple occasions, been seen jamming to The Butcher’s songs. But that’s not all there is to the relationship between the pair of them. The stardom and fame that he boasts now didn’t come easy.
‘I kinda identified with him’: The Butcher about LeBron James
Benny’s ’03 Draft track in the Friend of Ours album holds a special place in his life. LeBron enthusiasts would probably identify the year with the start of an epic, but for The Butcher, the 2003 NBA draft was a turning point. In 2019, the rapper/songwriter joined the Rap Radar podcast by TIDAL to discuss his upcoming plans and success until that point.
In the midst of it, the host asked him about the significance of 2003 in his life. Benny recounted one of the dark phases of his life. When Bron was 18, he got drafted into the NBA while he, an 18-year-old himself, watched that through a TV in a federal facility. “In some weird fu****g way, I kinda identified with him. He was going through a big situation and I was too, I was the youngest in the whole jail.”

Almost all of his songs are based on the real-life experiences he faced from a young age. He was the second-eldest of eight children brought up by a single mother. Although a young Jeramie saw his mother struggle with addiction, the poverty and circumstances pushed him to deal.

While James didn’t fall prey to such vices, he was also raised in a somewhat similar circumstance in Ohio. These similarities could have been a major reason for the ‘kid from Akron’ to identify so closely with Benny.
