Klutch Sports’ Rich Paul stood his ground despite getting cornered by a meddling reporter. The star sports agent did what he promised: getting Bronny a spot in the Los Angeles Lakers. The LA side drafted the 19-year-old in the 55th pick and is all set to create the much-awaited NBA history. While the majority of fans eagerly wait to witness the first father-son duo on court, others accused the superstar of nepotism claims. Amid the accusation, Paul dropped a surprising comment.

Addressing public opinion, a reporter caught hold of Rich Paul at the LA airport (LAX) and fired him with uncomfortable questions. But living with Bron probably has its benefits where he was ready to tackle anything and everything. The reporter asked him whether Bronny would have got a place on the side if he wasn’t LeBron James‘ son. Paul, unfazed by the bait, said, “Yeah, he deserves to be in the NBA. Lot of different people say lot of different things… Often times when things happen in a positive way, people decide how they want to view it.”

How effortless!

And that wasn’t the end of it. Following this, Paul also stated that James Jr.’s parents worked hard to provide the opportunity for their kid and followed it with a surprising comment, saying, “If that’s nepotism, then so be it.” When the reporter tried to extract more information from the agent, he slipped away and hopped on to his car. Moreover, TMZ, which reported the interaction, claimed that Paul believed, Bronny James would have been drafted even if his name was “John Smith”.

Even though Paul fled from the spot before the reporter charged him with further questions, he almost proved the experts’ claims. Lately, Rich Paul and his firm Klutch Sports came under the scanner for dictating Bronny’s career. Especially after the reports of him threatening the teams not to draft, James Jr. came out.

The word was already out that the Lakers would draft the young gun. When the 17th pick was spent on Dalton Knecht, the NBA world was aware that the LA side would go for Bronny in the 55th pick. Amid this situation, Rich Paul’s phone calls to other franchises came to the surface. Speaking of which, the former Warriors GM, Bob Myers, said, “He’s telling them, ‘Do not take them.’ OK? He’s saying, ‘Don’t take him. If you take him, he’s going to Australia. So he has a plan, and he has a place.”

Myers accused Rich Paul of threatening the franchises that Bronny wouldn’t stick with the team if they drafted him. Nevertheless, the NBA world has gone past the accusation as the Lakers have already drafted him. Now that Rich Paul’s job is almost done, Bronny has a huge summit to scale. The 18-year-old has to live up to his huge expectations.

The entire uproar against the youngster began when he ended his freshman year with a 4.8 points per game average coming off the bench. However, the youngster indeed had very little time to prepare for the season because of the cardiac arrest. So Bronny now has an opportunity to prove everyone wrong and stress that he belongs in the NBA and deserves the spot.
