After jokingly labeling his son’s post-game interview as “the worst,” LeBron James greeted a young Laker in the number 41 jersey and stood beside him. Rather than focusing on Bronny, a fan asked on X, “who tf is #41 LMAO?” as they noticed Bron taking pictures with the player. Speculation ran rampant about the relationship between the player and LeBron. For those who missed the tweet that eventually went viral, the player in question was Quincy Olivari.

From going undrafted to confirming his position on the Lakers roster, Quincy’s journey has been an intriguing one that every fan is taking an interest in. However, the 23-year-old did not anticipate that a tweet would turn his world.

While talking to Treasure Wilson AKA Stat Baby on a recent episode of Come And Talk 2 Me, Quincy confessed that he hadn’t taken the comments personally, but rather had a good laugh about it. But the next day, when he checked his phone after his friend gave him a heads-up on what was going on Twitter, he was shocked.

There were floods of comments and new followers after the tweet went viral. People were asking him odd questions about whether he was cold, but there was one comment that stuck with him. “The first comment that I saw that made me laugh was, it was, like, oh, that’s Savannah’s cousin,” Quincy said.

“And it was, like, that’s LeBron James junior junior. And so when I was looking at that, I was laughing because they were, like, oh, that’s just one of LeBron that’s one of Bronny’s homies that just went on with me today,” he added. That was a bittersweet moment Quincy had in the locker room and with his friends. During the whole episode, the limelight entirely shifted from Bronny to Quincy. But that was not the only time the former Xavier drew attention.

Quincy Olivari continues to steal the limelight from teammates

In the Lakers’ final preseason game against the Warriors, Bronny came up with an unexpected 17 points while Quincy managed to score 5 more points. This not only earned him the two-way contract with the Lakers but also the respect of LeBron James, who congratulated the point guard with a heartfelt Instagram story. However, Quincy’s day got extra special when his idol appreciated him.

Following the game, Stephen Curry greeted Bronny and said something in his ears while hugging him. Instead of this making it to the headlines, Quincy’s emotional reaction to Steph’s gesture was highlighted. Despite being a Laker now, Quincy admitted his love for Stephen Curry and the 3-point specialist reciprocated it in the most special way.

Curry gifted him a pair of shoes with his signature on them. And the budding star couldn’t hold back his tears. “That meant the world to me, man. My dad knows, my mom knows. It just means a lot. I don’t know, it’s a lot,” with tears in his eyes, Quincy said in the post-game presser.

Wonder how Bronny would be feeling. Rather than a bad vibe, it could be a sense of relief for the 19-year-old after all the negative attention he received since his draft to the Lakers. And if everything falls into place for Quincy, then the Lakers could finally benefit from his talent in the upcoming season following a snooze fest summer.
