Jessica Pegula's husband obsessed with Curry—Is this fan behavior cute or just plain embarrassing?

Stephen Curry has been a household name because of his NBA fame and off-court contributions. However, one of the main factors behind his popularity is before he entered the league, fans got to see his NCAA days, as he became famous at an early age. Surprisingly, his excellence beyond the arc developed during those years at Davidson. It became his signature move, which he recently relied on to bring home Gold from Paris. That’s why he sustains a fanbase that holds core memories from his nascent hooping days. A similar incident happened with the Warrior and Ayesha’s interaction with US Open finalist Jessica Pegula and her husband, Taylor Gahagen.

Revealing her husband’s obsession with Stephen Curry, Jessica stated, “My husband, his iPhone name is Steph Curry because he loves Steph Curry. So if you connect to Bluetooth, like send him something or airdrop, it’s Steph Curry’s iPhone.” Well, the secret was definitely going to come out anyway, and Taylor finally got the chance to express his admiration for the 4x NBA champion during the US Open finale.

Recalling the details of the funny story, Jessica narrated, “I kind of left early, and he texted me; he was so excited. He didn’t like want to say anything, and I was like please tell me you did not tell him about the iPhone thing and he’s like ‘Oh yeah I did!'” The statement left Jessica and the whole media room chuckling over her husband’s cute gesture. Even the 6x Singles WTA winner thought the same.

“So I thought that was really cute, and he’s like, no, he loved it. And I was like, did he or did he really think you’re kind of crazy?” Jessica shared. However, it seems the NBA star took it well as the US Open runner-up further revealed in the presser, “I guess he thought it was pretty funny and he was like, ‘Oh you got to show my wife that.'”

Regardless of what Jessica, whose family is reportedly worth $7.7 billion, says about Taylor, her husband first “watched him [Stephen Curry] at an NCAA tournament in Buffalo,” so that response of sheer fanboying from him seems pretty legit. It is more like the sharpshooter has been a part of his life for a long, long time. Well, this was nothing compared to Stephen Curry‘s dedication to his fans!

Whether in the Bay Area or not, Stephen Curry often goes out of his way and surprises his fans!

It’s not only the on-court prowess of Stephen Curry that makes him admirable. His dedication to his fans is often time palpable as he displayed it on various occasions. One such incident was the one during a Paris Olympics practice game. Before the training, the fans had collected to meet Team USA. However, tired after the scrimmages and the scorching heat, the hoopers only waved while heading to their bus. However, Steph then showcased his beloved status. He was the only one who stood up and signed autographs for the fans.

The temperature was about 114 degrees at the time! Under such scorching heat, he determined to give something to those who came to support his camp. Even during the Exhibition games in London this year, the Golden Boy casually visited a sports apparel store. Coincidentally, a female Warriors fan was picking up Curry’s No. 30 jersey. As soon as Curry spotted the fan, he asked her, “That’s a nice jersey you got there. You gonna buy it?… I think that’s the best one in here!”

After the interaction, the fan was left in awe as the Warriors legend not only signed her jersey but also took a picture with his English fans. Despite all the hurdles, it displayed Stephen Curry’s superstar status. It’s not just the game. These little things matter the most to the fans, and that might be the reason he got the name ‘The Golden Boy.’
