Is Josh Hart's hilarious complaint about Karl-Anthony Towns the best NBA banter we've seen?

Thanks to several reports, it has become public knowledge that Karl-Anthony Towns will suit up for the Knicks next season. But the trade has not been made official yet by either party. Sure enough, that means members of the Knicks, be it the players or coaches, are shying away from indulging in any conversation about the blockbuster move. Media veteran Taylor Rooks used that to her advantage and took a subtle dig at Josh Hart after he publicly voiced his Media Day carousel observation to the journalist.

In her latest Instagram post, Rooks shared some snippets where she interviewed superstars from several teams, including Tyrese Haliburton, Bam Adebayo, and more. “Chatted around the NBA for Media Day! Some fun and interesting moments here with stars around the leagues,” she captioned the same. However, there was no one representing the Knicks in the slides. And Josh Hart hilariously questioned her in the comments, “Didn’t want to talk to us huh?”

In a fitting reply that left Josh Hart in shambles, Rooks responded, “@jhart y’all talking about “Who’s Karl” 😭🤣” Obviously, Taylor was referring to the hooper’s teammate Jalen Brunson’s comment when he was asked, “Did you say hi to Karl when he got here?” Trying to avoid directly addressing the blockbuster trade, JB hilariously replied, “Who is Karl? Don’t know who that is.” However, this isn’t the first time, ‘Mr. Everything’ has slyly addressed the mega Knicks-Wolves deal.

Josh Hart had taken it a step further and reacted as if this was the first time he had heard of the trade on Media Day. “What report? We got KAT? Oh wow, that’s crazy!” Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns was spotted in New York earlier today entering the Knicks’ training facility, that too, wearing his new team’s cap! So, it might be just a matter of time before things become official.

Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson spilled the beans after a slight push from the media

While the Knicks stars initially avoided the KAT questions, the media found creative ways of getting a response from them. Sure enough, one journalist twisted the question and asked Jalen Brunson about his experience of sharing the court with a talented big like Kristaps Porzingis during his days in Dallas. “Uh, it’s obviously a different dynamic. It gives us a different weapon. The [point guard’s] reads are definitely different. You still have to see how the defense is reacting to different situations.”

“But yes: There’s a difference. And we’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” he responded. While there was no address of KAT, Jalen Brunson hinted at what the future could look like for the Knicks. Meanwhile, Josh Hart sang praises of the All-Star Center and his potential new teammate without acknowledging the trade, “KAT is an amazing player — someone who will be really good in terms of spacing, knocking down shots, blocking shots. We’re extremely confident in what we have, both officially and unofficially.”

Sure enough, the addition of KAT will solve the team’s length problem that they had been dealing with, especially after the departure of Isaiah Hartenstein. With his seven-foot frame, the Knicks get a true Center and a solid rim protector, which will take the pressure of smaller guards like Josh Hart. Moreover, he is also a career 39.8% shooter from the three-point line, which makes him a huge offensive threat and will spread the floor for the team’s offense. And hopefully, Towns will help the Knicks get closer to winning a championship. What are your thoughts?
