The run of agony continued for the Golden State Warriors. After a stinging loss to the Houston Rockets, the Dallas Mavericks handed the Bay a second loss in a row. A masterclass from Luka Doncic left the Chase Center crowd stunned. The Slovenian’s magnificent triple-double ensured the Mavs packed a punch early in the game. The blow ended up downing Stephen Curry and Co. But PJ Washington decided to add salt to the wound.

In a previous game against the Wolves, Draymond Green stole his longtime teammate’s iconic ‘night night’ celebration. The notion isn’t exclusive to the ‘Chef’. For rivals, the sight of Stephen Curry hitting the celly turns into nightmares. Washington wanted the Bay to know what that felt like.

After exiting the game for the final time in the fourth quarter, the Dallas native mockingly hit the ‘night night’ in front of his teammates. It was a direct jab at Curry and the Warriors as the Mavericks deepened their troubles. In a matter of a few games, they slipped from the third seed to now being the seventh seed in the West.

It has been a tough week for the Dub Nation. To begin with, their side lost a controversial game against the Rockets. It ended their NBA journey in a gut-wrenching fashion. Then tonight, with a bounce back on their mind, Dallas spoiled the part. Likewise, Washington mocking their biggest attraction, pushed a few fans over the edge.

PJ Washington got a target on yo head, one such comment mentioned. The build-up of rage is very much justified. Even Washington must have known these consequences. However, the elation of a monumental victory superseded these concerns for the Mavericks forward.

For some, there was an imminent unfolding they had become all too familiar with. In recent years at least, Stephen Curry doesn’t let taunts go away lightly. Hence, one fan feltPJ Washington did the night night too early.” But for the Mavericks forward, he too did it to settle scores.

When the Warriors first played the Mavs, Klay Thompson’s return to the Bay attracted tremendous energy. The game followed suit. It stayed close before Stephen Curry sunk a dagger on Dereck Lively II and hit his popular celebration. Washington may have kept that close, and at the right moment, decided to take appropriate vengeance.

Despite that, fans didn’t appreciate his antics. One fan even said, PJ Washington really wanna be a cornball doing THAT!?. It was targeted toward the forward’s disappointing production in the fourth quarter.

PJ Washington doing the Nite Nite with this 4th quarter,” the comment read.

However, with all that considered, Washington’s primary job was to be a robust defensive force and curb a possible fightback from the Bay. His 13 points also came on great efficiency, playing perfectly with Luka Doncic’s subliminal playmaking tonight. The former Hornets starlet is having an amazing season for his hometown, averaging 12.7 points and a career-high 8.1 rebounds per contest.
