The video from the incident quickly exploded. Spears, who appeared to be harmless, approached Victor Wembanyama from behind but was struck by the security’s hand, who tried to keep her at a distance. Since the incident, several media outlets have covered the story, some even having peculiar opinions. Targeting one news channel in particular, the 41-year-old artist diverted to her personal fan experiences to address the situation.

“This radio station, talking smack, talking s**t. That’s why I am addressing it. Saying that I deserved to be smacked, security was doing their job and protecting their client. I have been with the most famous people in the world in sync all at one time. Girls would like literally throw themselves at them. On my way into the place, actually. I was knocked down by like three 12-year-olds trying to get my picture. My security, not one time touched them or even came near them,”.

Additionally, the singing sensation also noted that she received an apology shortly after the incident. According to Spears, “I did get an apology on my table 30 minutes later”. However, she is adamant about wanting a public apology from Victor Wembanyama or any of his representatives.

The situation does seem to be chaotic with both accounts differing from one another. Many have sympathized with Wemby, including Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari. He felt the blame should fall on the security guard, and not the French wonder kid. The incident shattered the NBA world, and it seems only a public apology will bury the matter.
