Domantas Sabonis has gone from dominating the paint in Sacramento to dipping into Napa Valley’s celebrated winemaking tradition with his latest venture. Along with his entrepreneur wife, Shashana Sabonis, the Lithuanian big man has launched their own wine brand, Ones by Sabonis.

The brand effortlessly merges the world of sports and fine wine into a 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon – their very first release! How, you ask? Well, for starters, Sabonis has added subtle designs that are a nod to his time with the Kings. We’ll get to that in a moment. But first, let’s hear it from the man himself.

Taking to Instagram to announce the exciting news, Domantas added a wholesome post where he gave out a heartfelt message for all of us. “From Us, To You. 🍷 Today we announced the launch of our new Napa Valley wine brand, Ones by Sabonis. @onesbysabonis is our ode to agriculture, to Napa, to good wine and to family time. His wife, Shashana, too uploaded a string of stories from her account that shouted out their new venture. One of them was by Front Office Sports, which detailed those finer details. The wine’s design subtly references the team, with bottles dipped in rich purple molten wax, and labels reminiscent of a basketball’s texture. Aside from that, the year 2022 itself holds personal significance.

As many of you might know, the Kings traded Domantas Sabonis in 2022. Clearly, the ‘Beam Team’ is close to the Sabonis family! Moreover, the 6’10 center/forward’s genuine, heartfelt tone carries into the brand’s presentation, bringing warmth to an industry known for both tradition and innovation.

Moreover, this is also part of a growing trend: NBA players bringing their names and personalities into the wine business. Sabonis joins the likes of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, who have made similar ventures, bridging their off-court interests with a world they’re passionate about. Lobos 1707 Tequila by LeBron James works well within the community.

For these basketball legends, wine represents a mix of relaxation, sophistication, and legacy—values they share with fans, offering a way to connect that’s entirely separate from their on-court careers. Whether you are a Kings fan or a wine enthusiast, this release no doubt brings us into the Sabonis family, who are as warm and welcoming as a shared glass.
