Is Rich Paul right? Are Curry and Thompson the best backcourt duo ever in NBA history?

Rich Paul – “power broker,” “cutthroat businessman,” “trailblazer,” etc., are terms we have usually heard associated with the man. And here he is, claiming that his name belongs in the elite group of shooters. About 10 months ago, Rich Paul practically shocked the whole world with an outlandish statement. The Klutch Sports’ CEO was of the opinion that he is in the same league as some of the best shooters in the NBA.

“I’m one of the best shooters, even still, to this day. If I was in the one of 450, I’d be at the top! Guys like me, Steph, Klay, … if you just talking shooting, this is the class, I’m in,” Rich claimed as a matter-of-fact on Club Shay Shay.

Needless to say, we were all Shannon Sharpe, at that moment, who asked, “Klay who?” as Rich Paul was busy listing out his reasons for considering himself on the same level as some of the elite shooters the NBA has produced. However, it seems like he wasn’t bluffing in the least.

A video of the sports agent draining threes in a shootout is fast becoming viral on X. As per the X user, @shpillo_, he went 8-of-10 from the deep. Not bad at all, while his pals went mad in the background!

Shannon Sharpe would certainly be reconsidering everything he said back then. Because the 3x Super Bowl champion was not willing to entertain even the thought, even for a minute second, that Rich Paul could be in the same league as the shooting legends of the league.

Rich Paul stood his ground despite Shannon Sharpe’s sarcastic remarks

While LeBron James‘ agent was trying to make his case, the NFL legend was busy throwing snide remarks. “Y’all going down to the gun range? That kind of shooting?” “You should drink some more, because you too sober to be saying something like that!” None of these snubs shook the 43-year-old’s composure in the least. Rich Paul maintained his stand. “I’m just telling the truth.” While his above video certainly provides enough evidence for his claims, earlier in the year, he admitted that he wasn’t the best!

Standing at just 5’8, he was, at best, an undersized guard. During the All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis in February, Rich Paul spoke to a group of 70 Ben Davis High School athletes at the shoe and apparel store, ‘Hang Time’. And while he was fielding questions from the eager audience, Rich Paul said, “I wasn’t the best player on my team but I was the best dressed.” Of course, the session that day was more along the lines of motivational. Nevertheless, the “Kingmaker” was just as inspirational as the “King”.

After all, this was the man who created an empire outside of what the traditions dictated. And now, he can add yet another feather to his cap as a three-point shooter. Well, what do you think? Is Rich Paul on the same level as Steph and Klay? Or was it just a good story?
