The Phoenix Suns pulled off a miracle in Denver last night. Kevin Durant and Co. took the Denver Nuggets to the wire and beat the defending Champions 117-107 in a thrilling overtime win. The Suns snapped Denver’s 6-game winning streak and improved to a 36-26 record. Phoenix is now 6th in the Western Conference standings. With only 20 games remaining in the regular season, the Suns are focused on continuing their dominant run and punching their ticket into the playoffs.
The Suns have had an injury-riddled season, leading to a lot of doubts regarding their ceiling. However, head coach Frank Vogel is not bothered about what the critics have to say. Vogel was hyped after yesterday’s overtime win and instilled motivation in Kevin Durant and Co. through an inspiring locker room speech. “Block out all the damn noise. We got a good a** team.” Vogel said.
"Block out all the damn noise… We're going to be a monster come playoff time."

Vogel reminded the Suns that they have three assassins in their squad, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. He also claimed they have high-level role players at all positions. Vogel commended the Suns’ regularly improving defense and addressed how impactful that will be in the post-season. “We’re going to be a monster come playoff time.” The Suns head coach continued to appreciate all the players for contributing in the win over Nikola Jokic and Co. He started by applauding Jusuf Nurkic, who played yesterday’s game despite dealing with a calf injury. Vogel also appreciated Grayson Allen for his monster 28-point performance.
The Suns might be a Championship team
Phoenix’s win over the Nuggets showed that the Suns are as good as any elite team in the NBA. Kevin Durant took over yesterday’s game and finished with 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bradley Beal also had a decent outing, scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. While KD and Beal did what was expected of them, Grayson Allen proved to be the unlikely hero for the Suns. He put on a shooting clinic and made 8 of his 12 three-point attempts. Allen’s 28-point performance helped the Suns beat the defending Champions.

What was even more impressive about the win was that Phoenix did it without Devin Booker. Their star guard has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury. Booker is expected to return to action later this month. When Booker returns to the lineup, the Suns will be a tough team to beat. If the Suns Big 3 stay healthy and role players like Grayson Allen and Jusuf Nurkic continue to execute their role to perfection, the Suns could be legitimate contenders to win the Championship.
