The Phoenix Suns have a tough challenge ahead of them tonight. Kevin Durant and Co. will go head-to-head against the Boston Celtics in a highly-anticipated matchup. Unfortunately for the Suns, they will have to play tonight’s game without their superstar guard, Devin Booker. The 4-time All-Star has been out for the last three games because of a right ankle sprain and will miss his 4th straight game tonight.

However, there is a silver lining amid Booker’s injury woes. Suns’ HC Frank Vogel revealed that Booker’s ankle responded well during today’s practice. Booker engaged in an extensive workout earlier this morning but is not completely ready to return to the lineup. Vogel was surprised by Booker’s progress and was hopeful about him returning to action sooner than initially expected.

That is great news for the Suns, as they need Booker back in the lineup for the final stretch of the regular season. The Suns have gone 2-1 in the last three games Booker has missed. Whenever Booker is healthy and available, he is arguably the best player on the court for the Suns. He has averaged 27.5 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in the 50 games he has played so far. With only 19 games remaining in the regular season and the Suns holding on to the 6th seed, Booker’s return could move them up in the rankings and give them a better winning chance in the playoffs. With Bradley Beal finally healthy and back in the lineup, the Suns are waiting for Booker’s return to attain their maximum potential.

Can the Suns overcome the Celtics without Devin Booker?

Although Frank Vogel’s update has brought some relief for the Suns, they still have to face the Celtics tonight without Booker in the lineup. Boston has been the best team in the Eastern Conference all season, and most teams have struggled to topple them. Jayson Tatum and Co. have lost only 15 games so far. However, the Suns have a chance to win tonight because the Celtics have been facing some struggles recently. Following their 52-point home win against the Warriors, Boston has suffered two heartbreaking losses on the road.

The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off a miraculous comeback win against them on Tuesday. Two days later, Nikola Jokić and Co. beat them in Denver. Kevin Durant and Co. will be looking to capitalize on this opportunity and hand the Celtics their third straight loss. That will be a massive confidence booster for Phoenix, as Boston is arguably the best team in the NBA right now. Do you believe the Suns can topple the mighty Boston Celtics tonight?
