The Phoenix Suns have a challenging Western Conference clash ahead of them tonight. Kevin Durant and Co. will go head-to-head against the defending Champions, the Denver Nuggets. To add to their troubles, the Suns will play tonight’s game extremely shorthanded. Their superstar guard, Devin Booker, will miss the Nuggets clash due to an ankle injury. Amid the injury woes, Suns head coach Frank Vogel received a relieving update ahead of the game regarding another star player.

Suns Center Jusuf Nurkic, whose status was initially questionable due to a calf injury, has been listed as available for tonight’s game. Nurkic has been dealing with right calf tightness, and it was uncertain if he would suit up for the highly-anticipated clash. His availability is a massive relief for the Suns as they could benefit from Nurkic’s two-way presence in Booker’s absence.

Nurkic had a monster performance in Sunday’s game against the OKC Thunder. The Suns Center scored 14 points and dominated the board with a career-high 31 rebounds. Even though Phoenix lost the game, Nurkic’s impressive two-way performance increased their season hopes. After Sunday’s game, Nurkic said that his career night did not matter because the Suns lost the game.

However, if Nurkic continues his dominant performance tonight, he can cause problems for 2-time MVP Nikola Jokić. Nurkic’s availability also gives Kevin Durant another player to rely on. KD has carried the Suns throughout the season while his co-stars have missed several games due to injury. Nurkic is averaging 11.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. And his presence could help take some load off Durant’s shoulders.

When will the Suns be completely healthy?

The Suns have had terrible luck this season. While Jusuf Nurkic has been cleared to play tonight, Devin Booker’s absence still raises concerns for them. Booker is dealing with a right ankle sprain and will miss his second straight game tonight. The 4-time All-Star is expected to miss at least 7-10 days of action due to the injury. That is a massive blow for the Suns, as Booker has played great when available. He is averaging 27.5 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.6 rebounds.

Bradley Beal is slowly starting to find his footing after returning from an injury earlier this month. It is unfortunate that one of the Suns’ Big 3 is always injured, and they have not been able to maximize their potential. The Suns are currently stuck at the 6th spot in the Western Conference standings due to the injuries. Hopefully, the Suns Big 3 will be together on the floor soon and stay healthy for the remainder of the season to lead the Suns to a better record.
