The Phoenix Suns will be back in action tomorrow against the Houston Rockets. Kevin Durant and Co. are enjoying a three-day break following Sunday’s win over the LA Lakers. However, the Suns face a huge dilemma as few players have yet to completely recover from their injuries despite the long break. Bradley Beal and Eric Gordon missed the last game due to injury, and their status remains questionable for tomorrow’s Rockets clash.

To add to the Suns’ concerns, Center Jusuf Nurkic’s status for tomorrow’s game is also probable. The 7-footer is dealing with a right ankle sprain. Nurkic had a monster game in the win against the Lakers, going off for 18 points, 22 rebounds, and 7 assists. If he misses tomorrow’s game, that will be a massive blow for the Suns who have been plagued by injuries throughout the season.

Bradley Beal has been out of the lineup since he suffered a hamstring injury during a game against the Sacramento Kings on February 13. He left the game immediately after playing only 5 minutes. Despite the long All-Star break in between, Beal has missed the last 4 games as he is still recovering from the injury.

Suns’ head coach Frank Vogel revealed after Tuesday’s practice that Beal is “making progress” in his recovery. “He did some of the non-contact stuff,” Vogel added. There is a possibility of Beal returning to the lineup tomorrow. However, the Suns would not want to rush the situation, considering how Beal’s first season in Phoenix has gone so far. Veteran guard Eric Gordon also missed the last game due to left groin soreness and might miss tomorrow’s game as well.

Are injuries the biggest concern for the Suns?

Although the Suns have a stacked lineup led by the Big 3 of Durant, Beal, and Booker, injuries have prevented them from reaching their true potential. They are stuck at the 6th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 34-24 record. That is not what the fans expected when the Suns added Bradley Beal to their roster. With the offensive skill-set of KD, Beal, and Booker, the Suns should have at least been among the Top 3 teams in the West.

Unfortunately, Beal has been very unlucky and missed most of the season due to multiple injuries. Phoenix has a legitimate chance at making a deep run in the playoffs this season, considering how talented their roster is. But it all may come down to health for them. Kevin Durant and Co. need to stay healthy for the remainder of the season to increase their chances of winning a title this year.
