The Phoenix Suns have had a wonderful run so far in the regular season. The team lived up to the hype, which was created during the offseason after the Bradley Beal trade and his added value to the point guard department. However, Beal didn’t play in any of the games so far and franchise superstar Devin Booker also didn’t play the last two games. While the most recognized point guards of the team didn’t play the games, one might wonder how the team managed its players. Well, the Suns coach, Frank Vogel, recently revealed the solution.

The Valley side took on the Utah Jazz in their third encounter of the season. The point guard-less team heavily relied on the 2x NBA Champion Kevin Durant. He did carry the team to a comfortable victory, along with the help of the supporting cast. In the absence of D-Book and Beal, did the Suns deal with their ‘Point Gaurd’ situation?

After the win against the Jazz, Frank Vogel addressed the press, taking up various questions. While most of the questions centered on Kevin Durant‘s efforts to shoulder the victory, one reporter asked about the PG situation. The reporter highlighted Jordan Goodwin’s offensive efforts in Saturday night’s game. Eventually, Vogel jumped into answering about the missing point guards.

Both Bradley Beal and Devin Booker missed out on the game due to minor injuries and Vogel rested his confidence in 25-year-old Goodwin. He said, “Very encouraged with Jordan. He’s playing good basketball for us… He’s a confident playmaker.” He, however, had a quite underwhelming performance. Goodwin dropped 12 points with 5 assists and 5 rebounds, coming off the bench.

Vogel further added, “You know with Team without a point guard, he’s really the one on the floor that has experience… he’s giving us a big lift.”
