The NBA season is less than a month away and teams have started their preseason training camps. The Philadelphia 76ers begin their training camp today, but they have a notable absentee. James Harden refused to show up for the NBA media day yesterday. The NBA slapped a fine of $100,000 on Harden for not attending. Harden still wants to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.

But according to reliable ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden is set to join the Sixers for training camp at the University of Colorado, as early as today.

After an entire offseason of ‘will he, won’t he?‘ James Harden will finally report for the training camp at the University of Colorado. Harden has continuously criticized Sixers’ GM Daryl Morey and stated that Morey was a “liar”. The Beard also stated that he would never play for a Daryl Morey team. But according to Woj, Harden will join the Sixers’ training camp as soon as today. It will surely be an awkward encounter for both parties, as Harden has made his desire to leave the Sixers very clear.

Losing a player of Harden’s quality would be a big blow for the Sixers as they look to challenge for the NBA title. Joel Embiid is still a 76ers player, but he won’t stay there for long if the Sixers can’t compete for the title. Players like Tyrese Maxey and D’Anthony Melton would have to raise their game if they want to compete for the top honors.

Last season Harden averaged 21 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. He also led the league in assists with 10.7 assists per game. Reintegrating Harden into the team is the best course of action if the Sixers want to compete for the Larry O’Brien trophy this season. But with Harden adamant in leaving the 76ers, it is easier said than done.

Fans React as Harden Returns to Training

Fans on Twitter reacted to James Harden returning for the Sixers training camp. They were quick to criticize Harden for creating a huge fuss. One fan wrote, Such a diva. Lol”.

A Twitter user by the name of Cavs commented, “Bro folded so fast”. While another user thought that Harden would return to the camp overweight. He wrote, “He’ll show up 300 pounds overweight, probably”.

A Twitter handle by the name of Roosh implied that Harden’s return was motivated by money. He stated, “Very predictable how things change when the money comes callin”.
