Watch out, Victor Wembanyama can hide! Despite towering most by standing at 7’4″, the San Antonio Spurs somehow found a way to keep his privacy intact. After a loaded calendar year, where Wemby played 77 games, the Frenchman needed to get some relaxation before making the offseason count. And so, he is off to the tropical lands of Costa Rica.
According to Dusty Garza, “Someone spotted him in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica- a beautiful coastal town located on the Central Pacific coast and home to a National Park, which features lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and vibrant coral reefs for really tall adventure seekers,” he wrote on X.

However, Wembanyama wasn’t spotted by fans like a typical NBA player might be. The news of Wemby’s refreshing trip only came to the public when he wanted. Garza claims the Spurs center has been in the vibrant Costa Rica was a few days. But because the workers at the restaurant El Avión Restaurant were forbidden to talk about his vacation, the news never went public.
The reason to do so was so Victor Wembanyama and his family could have the appropriate privacy to enjoy their stay in the secluded town without being pressed by an array of fans. It’s difficult to comprehend how any amount of measures could help conceal a 7’4″ giant walking the streets. But it’s easy when the person has experience in the lane.

Victor Wembanyama disappearing might be a seasonal occurrence
Before making his NBA debut, Wembanyama was engulfed in a helpless controversy. It involved revered pop star Brittney Spears, who was hit by one of Wemby’s security guards while in Las Vegas. Due to the incident, the volume of basketball reduced in his life. “I think basketball wasn’t even 50% of my schedule” he said after the Summer League last year.
Much of his time was spent talking to the media. Victor Wembanyama had to clean his reputation and speak about the incident. Likewise, as a 19-year-old mauled by cameras, the experience was taxing. He just wanted to spend the offseason dedicating himself to honing his skills, without being in the attention of the media.

It seems the trend is bound to continue. And during the current offseason, Wembanyama’s focus might be higher than ever. The 20-year-old suffered his first major heartbreak, falling to Team USA during the Olympic Finals. The emotional impact led him to make a daunting vow for the coming year.
“I’m learning, and I’m worried for the opponents in a couple of years” said Victor Wembanyama. Maybe not immediately, but the ‘Alien’ center proved winning matters the most to him. With his gifts and curiosity to absorb knowledge, Wemby looks bound for dominance in the coming seasons.
