The Golden State Warriors faced a tough matchup at the Target Center tonight. The 2022 champions were facing the young guns in Minnesota, with a concern over their playoff candidacy hanging in balance. As the Warriors entered the game with a losing momentum, they expected a little less arc on the hosts’ shots.
The Minnesota Timberwolves continued to miss Karl-Anthony Towns, due to a meniscus issue on his left knee. With that, most of the dire-time offensive load came upon Anthony Edwards. However, Wolves backup center Naz Reid decided to fill up the void.
As Golden State put up consistent 27-point quarters at the half, Reid posted 17 points. While Ant and Rudy Gobert continued on their leading ways, Naz sank 5 shots from the three, keeping the Wolves in the ball game. When asked about the center’s unexpected display, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr claimed, “He kills us.”

Reid provided the spark needed for the young team to embark on a run. As the Wolves closed on the 8-point, Naz sat as their top scorer. The center shot 7-11 from the field, resulting in 20 points, and 12 rebounds double-double within the third quarter.
Fans thrash Steve Kerr for his take on Naz Reid
Just like Kerr, the fans immediately caught on to Reid’s unpredicted outburst. With that, they began flooding social media in light of Reid’s initial domination against the Warriors. Taking note of Kerr’s comments, one fan cited Reid as the “Warriors killer“; probably anticipating the storyline to forge itself at the end of the game.

With a similar take, another fan hilariously questioned whether Kerr is manifesting the downfall of the Warriors in the game. Luckily, Reid only posted 3 more points in the game. However, his sudden surge helped Anthony Edwards and Gobert to switch gears. Ant finished the game with a team-high 23 points. Gobert, on the other hand, posted a 17-point and 12 rebound double-double.
Now Kerr has prophesied his doom?

As the Wolves won the ball game, 110-114, another fan mocked Kerr for summoning the Sunday night fate for the Warriors.
Self fulfilling prophecy

As fans decided to pose Kerr’s opinion against himself, a fan radiated at the Warriors dismal 36-34 record this season. With that, a fan claimed that many players can be cited as ‘Warriors killers’ in this campaign (even a few from the Golden State locker room?).

With that, another fan sarcastically taunted Kerr for being ‘Warriors killer’. The fans’ comical sneering came as they regarded Kerr to be humble in passing the torch to Naz Reid.

Steve, just like the Warriors 2023-24 campaign, falls in light of controversial decisions. He, through his rotations and crunch time lineups, has portrayed a contradictory image of their decade-long winning run.
