Disappointment continued for the Dubs as they took a double overtime dagger to heart. Despite Stephen Curry & co’s relentless effort to restrict the Los Angeles Lakers, the latter came out on top. The LA side, which has been often criticized for the number of FTs they attempt in a game, ironically won the game with FTs. LeBron James dropped two game-winning FTs to clinch the Rival Week against the Golden State Warriors.

Following the game, Warriors HC Steve Kerr didn’t hold back from pointing out the FT fiasco. In fact, Kerr held on to his nerve, citing his mom’s presence. During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked Kerr if he was upset over the 43 FTs shot by the Lakers. He said, “I might comment on the free throws that they shot, but my mom is here right now. I want to be on my best behavior, so I am not going to comment on the 43 free throws.”

Kerr is always entertaining when he picks up a mic. Recently after the loss against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Warriors HC poked fun at Sac Town HC Mike Brown, by saying, “Raymond, would you bring the computer up here, please?” as an act to clarify an officiating mistake.

However, tonight, Kerr wasn’t joking as he kept a straight face when he commented on the 43 FTs offered to the Lakers. While the LA team plays more of a physical game, which is bound to attract more foul calls, they have been repeatedly called out by multiple coaches.

One of them was Toronto Raptors HC Darko Rajakovic. He picked up the mic, following a one-point loss against the Lakers, and fumed over the FTs.

Following the 132-131 loss against the Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena, Rajakovic pointed out that the Lakers received 23 FTs alone in the fourth quarter, whereas the Raptors received only 2. “This is a shame. Shame for the referees. Shame for the league to allow this. Twenty-three free throws for them, and we get two free throws in the fourth quarter?”

Two days after he made this statement, the league slapped a $25,000 fine on him. Keeping the repercussions in mind, Kerr might have decided not to invite trouble for himself. What do you make of the constant criticisms of FTs offered to the Lakers? Let us know in the comments below.
