Stephen Curry is back. After missing three straight games dealing with a left peroneal strain, the Baby-Faced Assassin made a heroic return in tonight’s Wizards game. As expected, Steve Kerr was extremely cautious about his health and played him for limited minutes. But that was enough for the superstar to score 24 points and lead his team to victory. Of course, Dub Nation wants to see more of Steph on the court. However, he is rightfully prioritizing his health after committing a mistake that led to an ankle injury.
During the postgame presser, the sharpshooter gave a crucial update on his health, “I feel good. It’s just still early in the year and you’re trying to build up the endurance. Ankle feels fine. It’s just you don’t wanna get in a position where you get fatigued and put yourself in jeopardy.” It was during the third quarter of the Clippers game that Steph tweaked his ankle while changing direction. In visible pain, he hobbled to the bench and checked out of the game. However, he returned minutes later and continued playing. Unfortunately, he turned the same ankle in the following quarter and re-aggravated the injury.

He revealed tonight that his ankle was fine now. The Warriors star acknowledged that the first ankle twist led to the second one as he accepted his mistake, “I made a misjudgement on that one coz it was right away. The adrenaline got the best of me.” Had he called it a night after the first tweak, he might not have missed the last three games. Fortunately, Steph got off without a serious injury and is now back in good shape. Curry also revealed why tonight’s return was so crucial,
“That’s why it was important to get through this game where I could play aggressively but knew I wasn’t stretching to too many minutes,” said the fou-time NBA champion. Meanwhile, seeing his progression, Steve Kerr revealed his plan for the Baby-Faced Assassin.

Steve Kerr hints at ending Steph’s Minutes restriction in Celtics game
Addressing his plan for managing Steph’s minutes in the next game, Kerr said, “Probably depends on how he comes out tomorrow.” Although he was on the floor for only 24 minutes, the head coach revealed that the sharpshooter did not face any problems tonight. “Assuming he feels good tomorrow, I don’t anticipate a big minutes restriction or anything like that for Boston,” Kerr remarked as the Warriors prepare for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

Sure enough, tonight’s performance will boost his confidence. Even though Steph played his lowest minutes so far, he had his highest-scoring game of this season. And he finally looked like his old self, shooting 44.4% from deep range. Heading into the game, he was only averaging 18.3 points. Moreover, Steph called tonight’s game a ‘good stepping stone’ for what’s coming. Obviously, the Wizards were a much easier challenge compared to the Celtics, who have won seven of their eight games so far. Hopefully, Steph will be able to carry tonight’s momentum to Boston and play his usual minutes.
