More misery for the Warriors! They headed into tonight’s Celtics clash hoping to carry the momentum from the back-to-back wins in the previous two games. But missing multiple key players because of injury proved extremely costly, as Jayson Tatum and Co. handed them their worst home loss in forty years. Yes, the Bay Area franchise got blown out by a whopping forty-point margin. However, the level-headed Steve Kerr is focused on preparing for the next game, instead of dwelling on tonight’s embarrassing nightmare.
Addressing the loss, Kerr said postgame, “We kind of take it week by week and we’ve got Sacramento on Wednesday and we gotta flush this one down the toilet and we get ready for Sac.” Although the veteran head coach acknowledged that getting blown out like they did tonight is “demoralizing” for the entire Bay team and could even lead to frustrations, he credited the players for giving maximum effort, amidst all adversity, “We’ve been very competitive all year and our guys have fought.”
But the head coach felt it was necessary to hand a direct order to his team, following the tough night. “The most important thing for me is for our guys to forget this one. We have a day off tomorrow and be ready to roll in Sacramento on Wednesday.” Yes, Steve Kerr wants Steph Curry and Co. to get over this loss quickly and prepare for another road game against the Kings two days from now.

Despite Steve Kerr’s message and kamikaze approach, tonight’s outcome could haunt the Warriors for some time because they have fallen to eleventh in the West standings. It was an abysmal performance, with only Stephen Curry and Moses Moody managing to score in double-digits. Read that again. Of course, they missed two big names who are going to remain out for more upcoming games.
Warriors could be in trouble with Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga’s unavailability

A major reason for tonight’s loss was the absence of Kuminga and Green. Well, JK has been out since early January with a right ankle sprain and has been using a walking boot ever since. Sure, the youngster was recently spotted without the walking boot and is making rapid progress. But reports suggest that he is still far from returning to the lineup. This in turn puts the Warriors’ side at a major disadvantage because Jonathan Kuminga is one of their main scorers, averaging 16.8 points.
Adding to the concerns, Draymond Green will also miss the next three games. The reason? Left calf strain that he suffered during the weekend’s Wizards clash. Meanwhile, Stephen Curry is also playing through a hurt ankle that he tweaked in the same game. That means the Bay is going to be shorthanded once again for Wednesday’s Kings game and could suffer the same fate they did tonight. And that could raise even more locker room tension despite Kerr’s optimistic approach.
In all fairness, Steve Kerr already probably knew these problems were going to hit at some point. “Just fight. We gotta fight. We will mix and match some combinations and see what we can do.” Kerr said while trying to boost everyone’s morale a few days ago.

But what else can you expect with an aging core and ‘only’ youngsters, while one of your biggest specialists is now a memory plying his trade in Dallas? How much will Steph do? He needs more hands, that importantly, he can trust. Quickly. What would you have done?
