Assurance is everything. The Warriors once thrived on it—until they didn’t. Klay Thompson’s exit shattered their foundation, exposing cracks even they feared to face. But Jimmy Butler’s arrival? It changed everything. The Bay now breathes a different energy—new fire, old fight. Stephen Curry believes again. Steve Kerr does too. And Draymond Green? He’s not just back. He’s different.
Losing Andrew Wiggins wasn’t easy for the Dubs. Especially because he played a very important role for the team in the 2022 Finals. However, the Warriors have moved on. Wiggs and Butler swapped teams on Wednesday, Feb.5. Jimmy debuted in his jersey no.10 for Draymond & Co. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Just three days were enough for the team to know what they signed up for.
Thus speaking on The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, the 34-year-old Warriors veteran shared what it’s like to know Jimmy Butler plays for the Dubs. “We got Jimmy Butler. Like this is no small deal. It’s Jimmy Butler,” Dray said with the biggest smile on his face. But then, he realized it while sitting with Stephen Curry as they heard the news of Butler joining them.

Draymond narrated: “Steph, he looked like he got belief. After the trade, he looked at me and said, ‘Man, it’s crazy because it just dawned on me that like, this is it. Like this is… This is the last run. Last run.’ And I said, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s ride until the wheels fall off.’ It was an emotional moment.”

It’s moments like these that make us realize that we are indeed in the showdown for stars like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and other veterans like them. Curry said, “Last run,” and maybe this really is their final shot. At 36, he’s performing at the highest level for the Warriors that’s been his home for 16 years. Meanwhile, Green sympathizes with Butler and the odd situation he was in with the Miami Heat.
“People get caught up in all the stuff that was going on in Miami. In the last podcast, remember I had said, I just don’t want Jimmy to end up in the spot where they use that against him,” the Warriors center told of Jimmy Butler.
Well, things did go against the 35-year-old forward in Miami, but at the same time, he found his way out. Most importantly, the Warriors side; Steph, Draymond & Co. have a great appreciation for their new star, who’s bringing their charm back into the league.

Draymond Green drops message for Butler after sharing Stephen Curry’s emotional reaction
Draymond Green has lived through doubt and knows exactly what it feels like. That’s why he stands by Jimmy Butler. “The reason I said that is because it’s a guy that I respect as a winner.” He’s seen how narratives twist greatness into something else. “I’ve been a victim of people trying to take a winner and tear them down through all these false narratives.” Jimmy’s been through it too. But now, the world sees the player Draymond and Steph always believed in.
And with Butler by his side, something feels different. “I feel great, brother.” The fire is back. It’s been a while since the Warriors stepped onto the court with this kind of certainty. “Oh yeah, we’re going to go. Let’s win.” The road ahead won’t be easy, but that’s never mattered. “Stuff going to get harder. We don’t have to figure stuff out, you know, but I know when it’s right.” And this? This is right.

The Golden State Warriors feel alive again. Jimmy Butler’s arrival isn’t just a trade—it’s a statement. Stephen Curry sees it. Draymond Green feels it. The fire, the belief, the urgency—it’s all back. However, ‘Last run’ isn’t words, it’s a mission. The road ahead will test them, but they’ve been here before. Champions don’t fear the fight. And now, with Butler, they’re ready to chase one more.
